One more long weekend . . . then the holiday season and the temporary relief from work insanity is at a depressing end.

IL law is well written for self defense use of force. Most CCL coverages do not cover civil though IIRC. It's not terribly expensive though and maybe eventually I'll pick some up.
I look at it like this though, I'm a lifetime NRA member and if I were to be prosecuted for legit self defense case the NRA would be tripping over itself to take the case on to beat the state. If it's a questionable case, and in a liberal area you're probably fuked.
Some have limits and weird clauses. Some you have to really read carefully because they only cover the costs of legal fees if you win the case, essentially you pay out of pocket initially. I'd have to look at them again to remember which ones seemed like the best value if I opted in.

when getting an FFL becomes a practical option for just buying ammo, you have no 2A rights left...just scraps of privileges that haven’t been revoked yet

So I suppose at further distances it's chit with the slightest wind, but definitely sub moa.

200 yards with a rugar rpr centerfire is kind of a waste of money. It's like taking a $200 golf putter to game of mini golf.

But if you want best of best .22lr accuracy find guys shooting Eley Tenex out of Anschutz. Sometimes you'll see a Lapua round to very well.
Guys often post groups at 50m they can cover with a nickel, sometimes even a dime. And they don't do 3 round groups

As long as it shoots minute of squirrel then I'll have a justification for buying one. It has more function as trainer for the RPR though.
And it's a gun that will hopefully come in handy if I ever have kids.

Morning guys, spent the last 2 hours at DMV. Not counting the first half hour where I showed up before they opened. Government is so efficient, I wish everything could be run like the DMV.

Got wifey some wireless headphones for her stocking. She had them 5 days and left them in puppy range (guessing they fell off the bed and landed near his crate) he snaked those up while we were gone and I came home to a bunch of plastic chunks and shredded wires. Pretty irritated about it since she knows the pup will shred anything like that if left within reach.
