And you don't get to kill somebody because of what you think might be in the house or what you assume is going on based on an anonymous phone call.

And here's the issue, do we want the police to drag ass when there's a legitimate threat? Do we want them to go into these situations with an inadequate response?

Literally today we've got 1 dead and 4 injured deputies in Denver to a domestic disturbance situation. Pretty soon we're going to have deputies making disturbance calls with drone robots.

No . . . but I do want them to have a bit of a higher standard for offing someone than being across the street, behind cover, with nobody else within danger distance and using "I thought he was reaching for something in his waistband" as the trigger point. That's a far cry from "he reached and pulled something out and pointed it" or from being right at a car window or in a confined room when the guy reaches.

The cops in the Douglas County shooting right up the road from me today were pretty much ambushed when they actually entered the apartment (after being let in) and went to confront a guy in his bedroom. They were all hit within seconds by a rifle--haven't mentioned what kind but they said over 100 rounds were fired by the perp. That's a lot different than what happened in the swatting incident.

The cops believed that multiple other people were inside the house and in immediate danger.

Ike, you don't get to kill people because of what some anonymous caller said in a 911 call and nothing else.

FTFY

I haven't seen the footage but those things seem to happen more frequently than they should. That said, IMO difficult job and I think it is more of a situation of people being in the wrong line of work. Can't handle the stressful situation, a poor decision, and bad judgement while trying to do the right thing. That said it's inexcusable. It doesn't seem like it is something that can be trained out of them unless they can put them into those types of situations somehow and see how they will react, even then it wouldn't cover every situation. Police need to make fast decisions with potentially lethal outcomes, sometimes they get it wrong. I'm not sure that I would want them to be held to using the same restraint as a citizen with a CCL, but at the same time don't want trigger happy, unstable, or otherwise unable to use good decision making police. In this case shooting from across the road seems like pretty poor decision making.

i bought skyrim for ps4 awhile back. acquired spell telekinesis, enchanted 4 articles of clothing to reduce alteration magic use (28% each so alteration uses no magic). clever use of a shoe lace on my controller to hold down trigger and im up 40 skill levels, with repeated legendary'ing of alteration skills and almost no effort after tying shoe lace. im gonna try to get this character up to level 1000 with everything in health because i want to be completely unstoppable.

That's part of the process. Take your time, another month or two, or three isn't going to hurt you if it means finding what you are looking for and want. Realtors work on commission, so unfortunately, the faster they can get you signed and closed the sooner they get their check can move onto the next one. They are supposed to represent YOUR best interest which means making sure you are well informed and happy with the property you are buying, hold them to it or find a different agent.

I've actually seen an agent buy a house out from under a client, was a smoking good deal on a house in downtown Naperville. Talk about conflict of interest. She got sued.
