Anyone have any WDC ? It's got a low cap at $14 million. A Misc brah recommended it last night and in my drunken haste I bought more than I wanted to. Fawkin decimals.

And on the other hand, BTC is being accepted and adopted by more and more businesses every month. Third world countries use it as their store of value and some first world countries are adopting it, Japan and Switzerland come to mind as the more prominent leaders. Also, its BTC that's traded on major exchanges across the world, not alt coins.
Usually when people knock BTC and I start asking questions, it becomes very apparent that they just haven't done their homework and know why it's king or they're mad that BTC kills their ****coin gains. Here's the quick answer on why its the most valuable, it has real world use and adoption, it is censorship resistant, it is fungible, it is infinitely divisible, and it is completely decentralized. The best developers in the world have been working on BTC for almost a decade now and while sometimes updates are slow, it's because they take their time to make sure everything actually works
Why is that last point important? Well, look at ethereum, they give big promises but don't have the rigorous testing that BTC does. What has been the result, multiple forks because people's money got frozen due to bugs in the system. Everytime they hard fork it destorys the integrity of an 'immutable public ledger' as they can just change it at the drop of a hat because Vitalik (centralization) decided to. the last being the $150 million frozen due to one persons screw up. Smart contracts are an incredible idea but they are so far away from being usable that its kinda irrelevant.
On top of that, guess what BTC upgrades are due in the future? Lightening, Smart contracts and privacy.
The fact that alot of people aren't aware of because they simply haven't done the research is that BTC will have all of the features that its altcoin competitors have in due time. It will take some time, because again BTC developers rigorously test their updates before releasing anything. So if I had to put my faith in something I would go with the smartest, most talented developers who have been working on it for longer than any other project. Could that change? sure, but I'd be leaning towards BTC right now over all.

Eth has like eth classic and thats it. Meanwhile there seems to be hundreds of btc forks
Btc devs cant seem to reach development consensus so thats another reason for the forks.
I also went looking at btc's total exchanges and eth might be on just as many. Eth and btc both had about 400 listings on coinmarketcap.
Btc has first mover advantage and thats about it. But i agree some improvements make it just as viable

Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.
