Highly recommend that you and your wife do some research on areas to live and make a trip there without the children to get some feel of the place before hand. I chose our spot based on the general feel, convenience of gym/stores, and because it is a good quality school district.

Our daughter did have some experience changing schools already. She was in a mother's day out program for 2 years, then a private Kindergarten, then a public first grade before we moved. Once we were here our first year was in an apartment so that was a new school for second grade, then she was moved to TAG so she had a new school for 3rd grade, then they moved that whole program so she was in a new school again in 4th.

Hope it works out if it is what you want. Too much crazy traffic for me...drove through on the way here.

Not moving, I'd move but I stay here because of my kid. She does have a lot of friends here, but it's the situation with the momma that means if I move, I don't see our kid anymore then and only she gets her full time. My father though moved out of state and he keeps in touch with my kid via webcam every Sunday afternoon..but I observe and the thing is my kid doesn't really want to be on there with grandpa, she'd rather be off running around or playing with her friends or my dogs. I'd hate that to be me and I'd hate her mom to need to put me on phone cam or whatever and that being the only facetime I have with my daughter ffs.

But I would LOVE to be able to move from where I live. Maybe someday if situation changes up but doubt it.
