Black Panther has a set new Fandango record as the top-selling MCU film in the first 24 hours of ticket presales.

Fandango managing editor Erik Davis revealed on Twitter Black Panther sold more advance tickets in one day than the previous record holder, Captain America: Civil War. Though presales have been great, it remains to be seen if Black Panther will repeat Civil War's $179 million opening. The third Captain America film went on to gross over $1.2 billion worldwide.

According to a few industry estimates before tracking (via Deadline), Black Panther will likely gross somewhere between $80-85 million, with a possible shot at over $100 million in its opening weekend. The film opens in theaters during the four-day President's Day weekend on February 16.

Anyone excited about this? I am a big Marvel fan, so day 1. But gf and cousins(my usual companions for movies) arent excited. Gf only watching it, cuz it will tie in to Infinity War(I think).

I was burned out on these when Thor came out.
If this does bad people will cry racism, totally ignoring that people are 100% sick of these b and c level superhero movies.

Can they just hold off in releasing any more marvel movies until Infinity War? That’s the one everyone is waiting for.

I saw one spider man movie, one captain america based film (the avengers I believe), and I made it through half of a Thor flick but thought it sucked. I also streamed Deadpool but I couldn't make through 45minutes because the script was as if a bunch of 15 year old high school students wrote it. So try hard and cringey. Superhero movies are rarely good enough where I feel compelled to check out a second and third of the same character.

That said, trailer looks pretty sick so I'm personally gonna go check it out.

legit never heard of BP before this movie but I like the character.

nah not this one, BP and the Wakandans are most definitely kangz. Though It would have been cool to see Spiderman instead of Michonne with the rest of the squad in that trailer.
