opening and cutting random stuff or straight protection. Working in an office you'd also be opening a chit ton of boxes.

alot of edc knives also have window breakers, bottle openers, or even screw drivers on them.

Can confirm (think it’s a bit more than 200 though), I’ve inquired about conceal carry here before and basically even security guards with military background ex cops have trouble getting one. Only people I know who carry in LA are doing it without a permit.

I dropped by The Firing Line when I was down in Burbank and they said it's a lot easier if you apply in a different county, but if you live in LA County, then never mind.

I'd just get one, practice with it, then try applying. Wouldn't hurt.

I've seen requirements for LA, Sacramento, and El Dorado Counties and they all say you have to be a resident or (in LA's case) spend a majority of your time in the place of employment or business of the county you're applying.

Apparently this is how alot of Realtors get ccw in alternate counties, or broker's in particular since they often have to handle cash or checks.

El Dorado County = GOAT

Register as many firearms as you want for your CCW, only 8 hours of mandatory training. Plus, the sheriff, there, gave the finger to the DOJ so they're still selling ammo like that new law never passed.

I don't work 100% in an office, but I use my knife all the time. Opening boxes/packages, cutting string, stripping wires, etc. I use it all the time. To me a knife is next to worthless for self defense, it's just a cutting tool. I have a ton of pocket knives. One of the most useful ones is an old school Victorinox Swiss Army knife. It has screwdrivers, bottle openers, and even a saw.
