Seeing what you guys pay makes me wanna fking cry. Pay $2250 for a 2+1 in Hollywood a few mins from the strip. I figured living here would be fun and I'd be out and enjoying the area but it has been nothing like that. Bunch of stuck up people and god dam homeless dudes around here.
Work in commercial real estate selling multifamily(large apartment buildings). Live with girlfriend and our doggo. Make upwards of 80k and sometimes more since it's all commission based.

lol too much real life. Come down to the beach cities/south bay brah, this is where it's at right now. Weather's nice, beach is close, people are more chill, and the rich people are actually rich, not mid 30's "professionals" on a dik measuring contest. Catch an uber to Dtla, hollywood, westside to party once in a while, without having to deal with the dickwads and homeless.

1650 for 1 bedroom condo

im a nurse and make around 100k. after taxes thats like 5-6k a month. 1650 aint ****.

shouldnt be hard to pay 1400 a month as long as you make like 50k+ and dont have too many expenses.

I work in woodland hills and my girl is studying at UCLA. She's gonna probably finish up her doctorate here but we're strongly considering moving once she graduates in June. I've seen some new developments in silicon beach and would strongly consider moving there if I didn't work where I did. I grew up in Boyle Heights/East LA and I miss the hood. I've worked with the developers who are going to overhaul the Sears tower and would love to live there.https://la.curbed.com/2017/10/19/165...hts-renderings

its all about connections , u gotta have the right friends to hook u up. that is simple.

a guy with masters degree with no connections is gonna have a harder time getting a job than a guy who is only a high school graduate who happens to know lots of people .

Im a PT and my girlfriend is a nurse
Together we make around 140-150K, maybe a little bit more with OT
Live in Philly

We pay 1300 for our apartment, with utilities and internet and cable around 1450. We are in a large complex with a pool, gym, 2 parking spaces (which in Philly is awesome). Never shovel snow, never rake leaves, never have to search for parking or have car sit in the street.

So worth it to me. Ive lived in the ****hole ghetto for years and let me tell you if theres one thing I dont mind paying for, its a nice convenient place to live. Id rather spend money on a nice play I enjoy being at compared to wasting it on eating out or a nice car which I only might be in 2 hours per day.

Damn dude you're still a fukin drive from work. GF and I both work less than 10 mins to the house. That's the key to living in LA

lol East LA crew huh? Yea that **** is gonno get gentrified no matter what you personally do. Too much money pouring into LA and there is no where to go but east. I'm an EE and have worked on many development projects. The consulting firm I'm with now does 3/4 gov't work so much less dealing with developers. Do quite a bit of work for UCLA actually.

You're paying that much in Howard County? Condo or a house? I grew up there but currently live in NOVA and paying 1300.

You guys are making me feel like vomiting in my mouth for how much I pay in rent for my LA 1 br apartment.

I was telling a friend how I looked on Zillow and Seattle is SO cheap, $1600 for a nice 1 br that would run 2500-2700 here easily. And she called me crazy. Semi agree with her now after seen how little it is everywhere else. Time to move.
They said she's gone too far this time

Ideally you would be compensated more for living in a expensive area.
