Anecdotal evidence this, I've not touched processed sugar for well over a year and haven't really noticed jack chit apart from the fact that most if not all sugary stuff makes me nauseous af now

u not likely to find a study comparing a bunch of jacked dudes who eat sugar to a bunch of jacked dudes who eat less sugar. the studies never control for sheer quantity of food, since thats not really applicable (they are typically trying to correlate cancer and diet or something).

we know that fatasses eat a chit load of food and dont work out. we know that the lifestyle of being a fatass will kill you. it is difficult to parse whether it is the being fat thats killing you or the food that you are shoveling in that's killing you. some studies control for these variables, like meta-study published by the who concerning processed meats. most of these studies produce boring results.

example, if you eat processed meat (2 helpings of bacon every single day until the day you die) you are at a 17% increased risk of colorectal cancer. that was an EXCITING study. you got a 61 out of 1000 chance of ass cancer just regularly. you got a 66 out of 1000 chance of getting cancer if you eat fuktons of hotdogs.

guess wat, if you exercise all the time, you reduce your risk of cancer to between 30-40%.

The same argument will then disprove veganism vs meat eaters, but someone has to be right.

no, here's how it works

claim: sugar is bad

evidence presented- non existant

result: disregarded claim

the fact you're in chemical engineering is incredibly worrisome for both your career aspirations and society in general

there is no problem in life maxing and trying to stay alive for as long as possible.

Only thing that exists is people with agendas and people without, people with agendas will try to cope and refrain from changing their ways.

Que Vegans trying to tell you that your digestive system is plant based, Que Keto trying to tell you High fat extremely low carbs is truth, despite the body being perfectly adapted to glucose, Or the creation of B12 by the bacteria in the human body to occur after nutrient absorption.

The fact that a guy who sits on a forum without any display of credentials gets to decide the work of multiple academics / Ph.Ds M.Ds is all nonsense is more worrisome.

especially when he decides that all evidence he has seen so far is weak, and when asked to provide said evidence in which I would then agree / disagree with him, he plays politician.

where are these so called studies from md's then? i'll wait

Lustig has already been heavily discredited for years now- the original fructose fear came from research where lab rats were fed 300 grams of pure fructose daily. that's fuking insane and isn't in any way feasible to real life consumption

Before you parrot studies, you need to understand research design first

Because how is saying Avoid processed foods harmful? or added sugar products.

or eating fruit in moderation which still has fiber and its micro-nutrient content intact.

you use examples of their studies using normal people who live bad. clearly the logic would be if these people make terrible life decisions surely this carry forward to many areas of their life especially ones most people don't deem important such as nutrition, which is then forwarded by buying purely on taste and price which means quality will go down.

plus virtually every dietitian / guru / academic / vegan / paleo / keto etc etc agree that processed foods are bad.
