There are random men's groups/retreats that are having a lot of great success but I think most are guys in their 30s+. Problem is most of the people who are severely at risk are so socially isolated that they're beyond even wanting to do anything like this. The extent of socialization for most is probably trolling online and getting **** on in real life, rinsing and repeating this cycle over and over until something snaps.

this, it's not even just mental health issues. Hate and anger isnt mental health, it's deliberate action for a reason. There's something wrong with people in the USA.

And anyone who thinks it's just the gun laws, do you really think other civilized western countries would magically start shooting up schools on a regular basis if only guns were more available?

and if it were just the fact that guns were there, it would happen a lot more regularly considering the number we have (and have ALWAYS had since the inception of america.) Switzerland has a far higher rate of ownership. Maybe we need to take an honest look into why we seem to medicate our kids more than nearly any country on earth.

Agree with you he shouldn't call anywhere a wasteland if he wants to have a reasonable discussion. That said, yeah Canada has shootings, but pretty high gun ownership as well. A better comparison is Australia, you can check it out for yourself if you're interested.

Why cant people understand that for an attack to be classed as terrorism it has to have an political or religious motive? A guy walking into a school and shooting people is ****ing horrible but if its not done for those reasons then it isn't a terrorist attack, skin colour has nothing to do with it.

People seem eager to draw a line in the sand to perpetuate hate. All it will lead to is larger/worse conflicts. Tell enough people they're evil scumbags for no reason and eventually a lot of them will just start acting the part.

Absolutely, Internet, social isolation, lack of community/purpose are all part of the problem.

But, so are guns sadly. This doesen't happen with the same frequency in other western nations. And when it does, it is often carried out with a knife=far lower casualty rate usually.

Look at that Vegas shooting, 500+ dead/injured in 5-10 minutes. Second amendment was all fine and dandy during a time of single shot muskets. In a nation of 320+ million with rampant mental health issues in the younger population, giving them access to modern military hardware is a problem no matter how you spin it.

If you're against all forms of gun regulation you're better off just admitting that you are willing to pay the price in blood for this particular freedom.
