Sex decline in long term relationships?

Had a brah tell me the other day he's been dating this girl for 4 years and they only have sex 1-3 times per month now. This is why marriage sounds like a trap (srs).

Quite normal especially if you live together. From my other thread, it looks like 2-3 per week is a healthy average for LTR

Didn't see your other thread but 2-3x/wk does seem about normal. Longest I've gone was 2.5 years with a girl.. it did get a little boring but still smashed at minimum 2x per week

Just keep in mind. LTR for a miscer is like 1-3 years.

Relationships of 10+ years that are still banging 2-3 times per week a definitely a small small minority.
It exists, but it takes 2 incredibly high libido people.

No kids, no marriage and he's already down to only getting his dink wet 3-4 times a month? Tell your bud to jump ship and find a more sexually compatible girl.

It's always sad when people in long term relationships give up on their sex life. There's really no reason why anyone -- no matter how long they've been together -- shouldn't be having sex at least multiple times a week (unless both of them have low libidos, in which case I guess it doesn't matter).
Take it easy Christian

Humor doesn't work like that.

I think you're using anecdotal chit.

If you think the average relationship of 10+ years are still having sex upwards to 3 times a week, you're wrong.

The word explain does not mean disprove.

****ing 15-20% of Long term relationships have sex 10 or less times PER YEAR.

Me and my Wife of 12 years still have sex pretty regularly, doesn't mean it's the norm.

After the spark and newness of the relationship wears off, the comfort and stability of the relationship comes. It goes from infatuation to true love in many aspects, hence why some relationships have less sex. It could also be that the relationship has ran its course also.

Explain where your info comes from? Why do you think the AVERAGE COUPLE that has been together over 10 years is having sex 3 times a week?

A few large-scale studies in the U.S. provide some sense of how much sex couples are having in their relationships. Married couples report having sex, on average, seven times a month (slightly less than twice a week).1 But, not surprisingly, sexual frequency differs with age and relationship duration.2 In one study of 16,000 American adults, the typical participant reported having sex two to three times per month, but those under the age of 40 reported having sex slightly more often (once a week).3 Regardless of age, couples also tend to have sex more frequently in the early stages of their relationships. Among couples in the first two years of their relationships, 67% of gay couples, 45% of heterosexual couples, and 33% of lesbian couples had sex three times a week or more. The numbers drop off somewhat with time: for couples who had been together 10 years or longer, 11% of the gay couples, 18% of the heterosexual couples, and 1% of the lesbian couples were having sex that often.

Or does anything off the internet count as the blogosphere? what does count? You can find hundreds of studies backing it up.
Are you saying I have to provide links? Are you actually going to read them, they are long as ****.

Over 10 years in relationship here.

Average 3x week under normal circumstances. Still find SO attractive. Average duration 25 min.

I think after 30 is most significant difference? (Question mark because im not positive but i think so)

Think it mostly depends on lifestyle

But:
The research team recruited 75 heterosexual young men (average age, 22.11 years), took saliva samples to test their testosterone levels and then used questionnaires to gather information about their relationships and their attitudes about sexual behavior.

Analysis showed that paired men had significantly lower levels of salivary testosterone overall than single men (mean, 86.03 pg/dl ± standard deviation, 18.87 pg/ml vs. 110.77 pg/ml ± 39.73pg/ml; p = .017) and men in new relationships (111.23pg/ml ± 37.13 pg/ml; p = .037).
Also, to the same study
The researchers also checked to see whether any other factors were associated with significantly higher or lower levels of testosterone — factors such as age, relationship quality or SOI scores — and they found only 1.

For the average guy its just things "going back to its natural order." Before you bang her out the girl is the one in charge of sex. Then you get up in it and get into something steady, and you can pretty much have it whenever you get wood. Then for some, it simply evolves back towards the beginning. Where you might have to put in some effort again. The problem is after so much time being able to just rip her pants down and run it up in her without question, its tough for guys to go back treating that particular female like you did at the beginning.

It sucks, I'm not going to disagree there. And its also why I advocate never settling down with one woman, or at least changing them out every so often. Just using an example I've got a friend who's been having sex with the same girl for over 6 years. You literally can't tell the difference between how they interact today than they did towards the beginning, other than they obviously know more about eachother now and have some history. So what's different? They are just friends with benefits. They both see other people when other opportunities come along. My uncle had it like that as well. He was divorced and swore off ever getting married or settled down again, and met a divorced girl who had the same attitude. They were together for over 20 years and had fun the entire time. They dated other people and never got into eachothers business about it. Girls shy away from that kind of relationship with a man, but the chit works for some.

Too much sad truth.

You have to consider sex a cardio sesh or youre not gonna make it.

It would terrify most in shape people how bad sex is with fat or obese people (60% of pop)
