Are kids stopping you from peaking? (srs)
Do you guys think that having kids (maybe in Mid-Late 20's) can stop you from peaking in life? They require so much time, attention, and money that I believe one would skip opportunities or risk in order to "keep providing for a family".
I know a lot of people having kids and they're just over 25. Saw another thread on here about how "life starts to decline after 25", which IMO is bullchit, since you are still young and have so much to learn about how the world works. Once you have kids, your life is no longer your own and you have to literally provide for another being. Risks are almost not worth the stress from the weight on your back at that point.

It depends on what the definition of peaking is. srs
For some, raising good, productive children (adults) is the pinnacle.
If your focus is on yourself, then children do present a distraction.

Yeah they most definitely do. My sister has 2 and shes 24 and she has no life outside of them. Shes getting fat and shes broke and shes either working, going to school or dealing with them. I would rather end it then be in her situation at this point in my life. No chance in hell.

Man, you millennial folks are some narcissistic *******s.
By all means, live life only for yourself and never have kids. Never mind that your parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc.. all had to sacrifice gettin' yucky wit da boyz, getting swole, banging 5/10s on tinder and becoming personal trainers for their kids.
I don't have any kids that I know of yet but if you think having children will inhibit your lifestyle, you're probably not even fit to be a father and will raise another school shooter.

They are simply an excuse to stay in the 9-5 grind and not pursue your own goals. Most people in their 20s with kids have no other choice
Kudos to you if caring for a child is your end goal in life. You made it I guess

Had my daughter at 31, she's 5, had my son at 33 he's 3. I didn't want kids in my 20's, and I don't blame those that don't. Are they keeping me from doing anything in particular? No. But that's why I waited til I was grown to have kids. In my 20's I was a piece of chit that didn't give 2 chits about anything but me, and would have made a horrible father. Now, my wife and I live our lives, and do what we do, but we have kids now that we take along for the ride. Sure the nights out partying at the bars have shifted to nights in with other parent friends coming over to drink and party, and sleeping in on the weekends is not going to happen, but we've always been the camping, hiking, do anything you can outdoors when you can types of people, so now we just have 2 tiny people to take along when we do it. Both of them are usually good for about 3 miles of hiking until they're done.

I'm not being judgmental, if you don't want kids then you shouldn't have them. Your priorities in life are your own, I'm just saying that there's a good chance older generations of your family sacrificed a lot to bring you here. I highly doubt you'd be here if they didn't.

....but you can say 70 is the cut-off point because when you get to that age you can no longer do most of the things you like to do. A simple fall can be life threatening. Hell, even if you trip but catch your balance you'll surly strain or sprain something...and speaking of injuries, even when you GET hurt it takes much MUCH longer to heal....the same with getting sick. A simple cold which would normally take a week to recover from, can take as long as a month and has a greater chance of developing into full blown pneumonia....which you can also die from....not to mention waking up every morning with new untraceable aches and pains. Then when you go to the doctor to tell them about all thr trouble you're having they simply give the"Well, when you reach a certain age....."speech, then you know you're knocking on deaths door.

Say you always wanted to ride a motorcycle, then you have kids and suddenly you're labeled as "selfish" and end up not getting one.
It would be ignorant to not think of your family and what they sacrificed to bring you here, but times were also different back then. Then you also risk having a problem child to make you life a living hell. Don't give me the nurture defense in nature vs. nurture either because I know a ton of guys who had strict parents and turned out to be total chitheads.

Depends on what you consider peaking. There is no guideline for reaching the pinnacle of life. My sons have brought me far more enjoyment than any material possession ever has but everyone has different priorities.

I agree with you on finding a compatible partner, it's why I chose not to have kids with the last women I was with.
The world isn't any different than it was thousands of years ago, we just continue to pretend humans are born "good."

now days you can't punish your kids because nosy ass neighbors will call CPS on you if they see you swatting your kid on the butt, or worse, yet your kid will go to school, talk to his friends and realize his friends aren't spanked and then he'll tell the teachers (or the teachers will overhear the conversation) who will call CPS. Hell, even if you don't spank your kids and simply punish them by taking away toys/internet, they'll just tell school officials (out of spite/anger) that you're mean to him and they'll call CPS....and its ALWAYS their word over yours.
So, if you can't spank your kid or take the internet or toys away from them they become wild monkey children which grow up into degenerate adults....unless you turn them into potatoes by prescribing them methylphenidate, in which case they grow up with depression because of improper brain development during their adolescence and shoot up their highschool.
pick your poison.
