One of the most dangerous sports in the world.
Almost drowned like 3 times, and that was after taking a bunch of safety courses. I didn't even progress past being a beginner.

For me, it's hookers. It's like the junkfood of sex.

High school football
Had fun and lots of good memories, no injuries or CTE issues, but it was a huge time commitment and knowing I wasn't college scholarship material I think it took a lot of time away from studies and I'd say my GPA suffered and didn't get into a prestigious school and might have F'ed up my life course a bit. Or maybe I would have just slacked off if I didn't play football. Who knows maybe it kept me out of bigger trouble. Still have some lingering doubts though.

Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way but, in 20 years if you're still here postin' in hhhnnnggg threads, beggin' for mod reps, and braggin' about whales you harpooned from POF, I'll f'in kill ya. That's not a threat, that's a fact, I'll f'in kill ya. You got somethin' none of us have, and you don't owe it to yourself man, you owe it to me. Cuz tomorrow I'm gonna wake up and I'll be red, and I'll still be a socially awkward/FA. And that's all right.

Videogames for sure. You may learn a lot from them, but It's not worth the time and money that you have to invest into it. So many countless hours spent grinding and doing quests in World of Warcraft..

I never did anything too stupid, but I guess for me it would be videogames. Such a waste of time. Probably not good for the attention span either
Some positives were that it taught me about grinding and problem solving, so it wasn't a total waste

Photography, specifically fashion photography:
Fashion photography is not well understood by normal people: lots of regular people think you are some kind of pervert, a good portion of girls are suspicious of you and it can cause issues in relationships
I'm fairly minimalist and even then I have got through almost £10,000 in gear
My portfolio has cost me £1,200 in paying models, hair, makeup and studio fees. No one good will work with you unless you are a real 'name', it's all about personal image and brand perception so you are fuked if you are an introvert
All the models who actually look like real fashion models are with agencies so you will struggle to access them
Constantly dodging store returns policies buying and returning clothes scared some designer item gets damaged during the shoot. I had over £1,000 of clothes on my credit card once.
A shoot can get totally fuked by someone bailing last minute because someone else is paying them more and you can be left liable for studio rental etc. or even weather
All interesting locations in/around London (which you have to be because that's where the industry is) you need permits to shoot at, security people never believe your shoot in non-commercial if though it's true (but you have a big camera!)
I'm burned out on it but still can't stop myself developing my ideas. Who knows if I'll ever actually shoot them.
