This. Bittrex, Binance, and Bitfinex are also all fine.

A exchange getting hacked is also the company'd fault for having chit security. It doesn't mean crypto itself is a bad investment that you're just gonna lose.

Also, why do people act so smug about crpyto declining? Are you just jealous that you don't understand it?
It peaked in December and is down 70% or so since then. This isn't just a "correction" and there's no evidence why it would bounce back to those highs. It actually costs around $5k for a coin to be mined in China right now.

even at these levels i'm still massively up on my initial investment, so I'll just wait it out, I'm either going to be

1) rich af
2) missing a few grand of play money

so hodling it is. there is almost no negative downside for me at this point.

Exchanges can (and have been) hacked

So keep your coins in a wallet which only you have the private key

If someone wants your private key and all they have is your public key then the only way to get the private key is through brute force (try every combination). To do so would take longer than the time the universe has before it implodes

go with the light, my son

honestly, i'm a low risk, old-school investor. i have a bazillion silver rounds that i bought at 7 bucks each years ago, but these days i go with the lowest risk investment of all: 4.25% return by sending extra to my mortgage. once that pays off, i'll probably put my money in commodities.

i do really regret not buying citigroup at a few bucks. i was so close to dumping in tens of thousands.

to be fair, Bitcoin is essentially useless and entirely speculative in it's value (I hate that its become the colloquial term for all "crypto"), but there are good projects in development that are stuck in it's shadow that could have real world applicable uses and revolutionize certain sectors.. the unfortunate part is that the industry has grown pegged to bitcoin and is now threatened by it's success/failure.

so for now I literally have to hold on to my chit and hope that BTC doesn't blow up entirely. more USD pairings will help going forward to remove the BTC dominance.

And you somehow know these sites have fine security, when even banking sites get hacked?

Yeah, you're fine if you put them in a private wallet. Until someone comes up with a scheme to use malware to harvest private keys.

No point in arguing with the nocoiners. They either don't understand the technology, don't realize how corrupt banks and governments are or want to flaunt that their right, right now. It's funny how ppl are saying "hey I told you" like bitcoin going to 6k it's falling and we've all lost money. Bitcoin is worth more than it was in October and the only people that have lost money are the ones that bought high and are selling low and that is just a recipe for disaster in life in general.

Risk versus reward is to good to pass up, srs this dip is super juicy and is about to get even juicier.

Most people in crypto only put in what they can afford to lose since this is basically gambling. If it goes to zero I won't lose any sleep.

If you put more in than you can afford to lose, I feel for your stupidity.
