Is being ripped post 30 not worth it / too hard to maintain?
Turned 30, working out for the last decade, have almost always had abs... definitely was an ecto originally and struggled to gain weight. Now, getting older it seems harder to maintain low bf and I have to follow a much more strict diet. Is it better just to not care about being decently cut anymore, and sit around 14 percent bodyfat / bulky in a T shirt look? Seems like the dedication aint worth it anymore considering i have a gf, and food is good lol.
Is this metabolism shift real or am i just being lazy / slacking on diet?

I've always kind of eaten like chit and not taken diet seriously, but it seems that my metabolism is slowing a bit.

Cut out some junk food you have every week. No more chips for example. No more soda. Something like that. It will cut out a bunch of calories and probably be the change you need without otherwise altering your diet.

Now that i'm thinking about it, i think i've just limited the bodybuilder diet... aka tons of shakes and protein, and just started consuming a more normal person diet. Meh.

If you square away your diet and keep gyming you will stay aesthetic as fuk for your age group until ~45-50. My uncle is muscular with abs at 53 as a natty gyming 6 days a week because he keeps a solid diet (still has some beers and nachos every once in awhile)

bruh lifting is about making you feel better
if it's no longer serving you then don't continue with it, if being more relaxed in regards to purely aesthetic means makes you happier then don't focus on it, just don't let your health deteriorate.
Stay healthy and there is really no point in being "ripped" if it's not what makes you happy. Good luck breh, enjoy dat food!
(we already need to do chit we don't wanna do, so don't add another inconvenience)

Lift cause you like it, diet cause you like seeing your abs or relax your diet cause you don’t care so much. It’s just what you want. So long as your lifting regularly and not a fatty or scrawny who gives a chit?

Also ive hit all my biggest pr's this year at my age. 30 is young all in all if you treat your body right.

Age 41 here..
Dieting is harder. Staying jacked is easier but the old man pains kick in little by little in your 30s lol
If I don’t count macros my body fat slowly starts slipping. That’s life, son

Why not? If you are in shape at 30, you are a head of like 90% of your peers (Yes I made that number up).
