Independent research meaning reading the work of someone else, in which you either put your faith in it being true or decide it's false.

It's really scary now. We've move from the information age, to the misinformation age. And flat earth theory is the absolute pinnacle of the misinformation age, since almost all other conspiracy theories can fit underneath it's umbrella.

It absolutely terrifies me what some people believe. This is the beginning of the end I think.

I can never be certain but using discernment it leads me to preface any Earthly interaction with the idea that it's flat and motionless. I would ask that no one try to battle egos with me over it. Convincing me that I'm wrong isn't a productive use of time.
I have the same reaction. I first heard about the flat earth idea as being serious a few months ago. I scoffed but was very curious why people felt strongly about it. I actually learned a few things like none of the earth photos we have (the sphere) are real in the sense that they are composite pics photoshop together. lol all this time I thought we had a satellite in orbit that took the pics of the full earth.

The reaction to the idea is also interesting to me because it may mimic the reactions that scientists received hundreds of years ago when presenting the idea of a round earth. Therefore, we get a glimpse into history.

You can't honestly believe this ****. I really can't believe there are people naive enough to convince themselves of this flat earth theory.

Answer me this then. The only thing I need to debunk your theory is the sun. Why? If the earth was flat, the sun would not rise or fall. The flat earth theory believes that the sun revolves around the Earth, lighting up specific portions of the earth depending on where it is located. Two major problems with that.

The sun would always be in sight. The sun would not rise and fall since the Earth is stationary, and the sun must stay above to illuminate light. Also, the sun has to be large enough to illuminate enough light and give off enough heat for us to actually survive. So, this means the sun would never leave your sight. It would just move further away in the distance in the sky. And since it does have to have such a great illuminating effect, as well as a strong thermal effect, It has to be large, which would always be visible at any time in the day, never allowing true darkness.

The flat earth theory has so many holes in its story it is laughable. You don't even need logic to debunk it, you just have to point out common sense. This world is doomed. These people are trying to set back logic thousands of years

the guy said that the earth is flat like a disc, but everything else in a sphere, like the sun and the planets etc.

They are spheres because our eye balls are spheres and thats how we percieve everything above the horizion.

Not only it's flat, it doesn't rotate or orbit, but the sun rotates around and is smaller. That's a lot more to believe than just the earth is flat.

There's no "earth". We are living in a realm or kingdom, a kingdom of God. Where our actions our judged by our creators and in the next life, or the afterlife we punished or rewarded for our behaviour. The globe is clearly the devil's concoction. Such nosense wouldn't exist in the Anicent world as these people clearly understood of God's existence. We all have been duped to some extent. Some are just more brainwashed than others and it takes a lot of conviction to deprogram from the devil's matrix.

from what I've read/seen about it, flat earth has an ice wall around the perimeter (Antarctica), so you wouldn't fall off.

I do think it is funny to think we had live video feed from the moon, but we still can't do face chat on our 4G networks in the U.S. (they have video call capability in Korea since at least 2010) (no conspiracy).
