I personally avoid them all. Couldn’t figure out the hype back when they started churning them out. Seeing as how popular they are now, I’m betting there are going to be a lot more coming.

If you look at IMDb lists of the best flicks that came out, say 1980s to 2000. You’ll see masterpieces every year. Look at the last few years; remakes and comic book flicks. Sad!

Once these companies and their characters where acquired by Disney everyone new they were going to make a ton of movies. They just needed some additional content. Their purchase of Marvel with about 5,000 characters for $4 billion is just pure genius.

They saw gold. Now it's full steam until all deposits are drained dry.

I don't blame them at all. From their perspective you'd be dumb to not do what they are doing. I still despise that it's enabled by audiences. I appreciate good "Hero" movies when it's not one every day. Stuff like "Dark Knight" and the first Ironman I really enjoyed. Now they are so desperate for plots they are shoveling out anything. The titles they are coming out are so fuking blatant and cringe... but hey, they are laughing with all the money they are making. I can at least choose to not watch them and stick to other genres and wait for the storm off fast-food hero movies to be over.

When you see what happened with Star Wars it's no shock that as usual when something is too good, it's overdone until it tastes like sh*t. Disney is the summit of soy.

It's the sissy-fication of today's world. Think about it, these superhero movies are basically the only big budget action movies we get now. Compare that to the kickass action movies of the 80s/90s which were all rated R:

All of those above were awesome kickass original violent movies. They just don't make them like they used to. The only recent one I can think of is Deadpool, which funny enough is a comic book movie.

It's the new fad. (These movie fads last about 10-15 years.) Before that, it was epic movies, before that it was mob movies, before that it was action flicks...These things come in cycles. Doesn't help that a few firms have dominated the entire industry. It kills the competition and promotes stagnation.

Idk I really enjoy them. It's cool to see comics come to life. There's so much material out there too so it'll never get old for me personally.

Don't know what the big deal is. They are just a couple of hours of action packed 'fantasies' with some light stories and often times good humor. The visuals are always a treat and just keeps you wondering. Can't see what's negative about that. Go check it out, most of them are pretty good. Infinity war is as good as it gets.

With the marvel movies you even get this soap action going of what's gonna happen next, which keeps you somewhat hooked.

I've never read a comic book in my life front to back. I had a lot of first friends that did and it was pretty common, but I was pretty much just a video game geek that also liked to watch movies and shows, and that was it. A number of cartoons back in the day were based on comic books, and they've been around for quite some while.

In the early 90's, all I was really aware of was Superman and Batman, and also was familiar with Swamp Thing though I didn't know it was a comic and didn't know how vaste comic books are. Just to note, it seems like most comic book movies that are coming out today have already been written at this point in time that I'm talking about, so yeah. I liked Batman more because he was vulnerable and had to rely on his intelligence and guile and I thus found it a naturally more interesting story. That's pretty much how a lot of people I'd come across felt, and this was typically people that I didn't recognize as comic book readers. Superman's fun and everything, but it's very basic and is much more solely a genre property compared to Batman. Not to say that a man dressing up as a bat is not genre nor even easy to suspend disbelief over.

But Batman is definitely the strongest adapted character from comic books ever. Adults today recognize Batman The Animated Series as the most respectable CB cartoon in the 90's, not to mention everybody was satisfied with the first two Burton Batman movies and had some appreciation for the 60's camp TV show. The cartoon and first two movies were respected because they were dark. The same sentiment follows for Blade and the first TMNT movie. This is a respectable base of fans, but I wouldn't say it encapsulates fans of comic books themselves. The X-Men cartoon was nearly comparable to Batman and finally got a good movie in 2000, and definitely had a new thing going for comic fans.

X-Men was good, but it still followed the suit of DC comics with Wolverine becoming the Batman as far as media adaptations depended on. Strong middle ground between the 90's and today, with Jackman having the record for most live-action portrayals of one character, while Kevin Conroy from the Batman cartoon having most voice acting. What made X-Men popular as a comic though was its ensemble (aside from its poignant social commentary). They haven't done the worst job getting that off the ground with First Class, but it's quite clear that Marvel took the right approach to doing that. So you pretty much have the Leno vs Letterman wars, with MCU being a bit more hoaky, while DCEU being more distinguished among certain types of fans.

Can't wait for the next big comic smash "Black/White: PanThor Wedding"

Those two *******s Black Panther and Thor finally tie the knot in holy matrimony and raise a bunch of mullato baby heroes that identify as women and drink soy to acquire super powers fighting evil doers in their bedazzled caped dresses only using their hands while shouting their anti-gun poosay propaganda with their sidekick duo of David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez by their sides.

Hollywood can crank out at least 20 chitty liberal scripts based on that storyline.
