what does your hypothetical situation have to do with what happened in the clip. While I don't condone what she did, I do believe that is an attempt at serious bodily harm, if he has slowly accelerated then it would be one thing, but he stomped on the gas pedal.

You aren't. You are supposed to remain in the car, lock the doors and wait for help. Unless someone starts breaking the windows, you can't do something like this. Even if you do drive off and run over someone, you are technically liable for their injuries, but you might be able to avoid criminal penalties if you can prove they were actually threatening your life, and that was the only escape. In this video, the driver clearly attempted to murder the woman. While I agree that she was being a fuking idiot, and she probably had it coming, the law is pretty clear on this. I would also convict the driver as a juror since such an action is beyond the realm of what I would deem reasonable.

Sober up before watching the video again. He did go slowly at first, then people encircled his car while shouting. It was a threatening scenario. Storm chasers understand that they have a chance of dying while recording the weather. It's part of the thrill and the only reason they can make money from it. If you stand in front of traffic in a protest it's a power play where death is very possible, that's what makes it so bold. IMO I don't think there's anything wrong with ramming through street blocking crowds, because that's what they signed up for.

To secure attempted murder would require irrefutable proof that the gas pedal was struck with the SOLE intent to cause serious bodily harm to another human being.

In the case of this video, SHE would not move and instigated the mob to surround the car. The passenger gave a verbal warning for the woman to move.... she did not and the mob continued to grow and surround the car.



In that video, that man goosed the throttle to get away from the mob, not to injure a human being.









They'll get assault if their lucky.
