When my lower back wasn't bothering me much I would train legs with leg press and hack squat. Never BB squats.
Sometimes I would use the Smith machine for squats.

I would also do leg extensions, lying and standing leg curls. That was about it for legs.
Sometimes I couldn't do leg presses.

I would train back with HS machines, DB rows, cables, and rack pulls from the knee and sometimes a bit lower. I could train back just about every way except deadlifts.

My back hasn't really bothered me for a number of years now. So I've been training legs much more. I started squatting but my knee kept bothering me for weeks on end. So now I'm not squatting anymore. It just got old and tiring having an aching knee all the time.

I still don't Deadlift. I did start got up to 275 and then it was not working well.

I own a bicycle. It was a gift in the 1970s. It is a Centurion.. I need to take it to the shop to have it tuned up.

I prefer apple cider.

People who arenโ€™t lifting and fit in their 20s or 30s are unlikely to pick it up later, it happens, but very rarely. Some people think itโ€™s vain and shallow, but really do you want to marry someone when you know that most likely they will gain 20-30 lb of pure fat, and youโ€™ll become unattracted to them?

I donโ€™t even think women have the excuse to not get back in shape after pregnancy (unless you had abdominal muscle split like my aunt, then you look pregnant forever bc your abdomen is now permanently in a stretched state). Let alone men. People who donโ€™t have strong will power and commitment make excuses like this.

Props for you for staying in shape despite having had kids. Iโ€™m semi terrified of getting pregnant because I think itโ€™s going absolutely wreck my body, not even just the weight gain, but stretch marks, boobs will never be quite the same, possibility of abdominal muscle tearing, pelvic floor muscle tearing. Those things are basically completely out of our control.
Just a correction:

The muscle tearing because of pregnancy is not out of our control, itโ€™s the result of the female not doing any sort of training for pregnancy. In the advanced societies of our past, probably the last was Nazi Germany, women were taught and trained from a young age to prepare them for future baby making.

I notice people usually only have one of the three when they hit 30:

- Good career
- Looks
- Interesting hobbies/skills

If you can have a good hold in two of the categories above you will be better than 85% of your competition at 30. If you keep your chit tight 30-40 could potentially be your best years on Earth.

The guy with a great career works 70 hours a week and is now fat/does nothing outside of work.

The dude who is ripped is probably making $12/hr driving a forklift and aspires to get wasted on Friday.

The fellow who shreds guitar is probably unemployed and dabbles a bit too much in harder drugs.

I don't have a family and that has allowed me to have a very exciting career and be in great shape. My career is in fact my hobby too.

However, I do wish I could have a family as I greatly enjoy teaching loved ones things and caring care of people.

Happy, I'm very fit though.

At work?

It's heinous and I feel very isolated. I wish to get away from my peers forever.

I LOVE psychology and I feel it's my duty to my clients to be able to answer any question they have for me, so I have a huge fund of knowledge on the subject instantly. This either massively impresses my coworkers or makes them feel stupid.

I want peers, so I don't care if I impress people, because they should know this stuff. If they feel stupid, then I worry about them because making people feel stupid is a recipe for backstabbing.

However, my therapy clients almost always love me because I care about them a lot, so that's great and why I stay on point.

In the gym, I have few problems as I put my headphones on and go at it. However, I do notice this thing where younger smaller guys will workout right next to me, attempt to get in my way, although there's tons of space, etc and that's some kind of male monkey behavior I hate. Other than that, I'm cool at the gym.

Only an hour a day to do a workout, usually less. Makes no sense.

31 with a 1.5 year old and second one due november, been working out since I was 18 and I am in the best shape of my life since my kid came along it's maybe just the first few months you miss some workouts.
Workout 3 times a week and still jog and play football not having time is an excuse.

Narcissism is a hell of a drug.

And priorities...

After falling in disgrace to a manmore, a ravaged manlet would not hesitate to come from behind and land a sucker punch/ swing with a rock to the back of a manmore's head. Too true although most women I know get all upset when you bring it up.

I must say a toned woman will look a bit better than one that doesn't workout at all but damn a woman can just watch calories and be sexy AF. BRB, lifting, cardio balancing marcros.

I would define good career as a balanced one. When you are young you bust ass for every promotion and step up to increase salary, when you are making a comfortable income you look at things like required hours, necessary travel, vacation time, etc. Don't need to work 70 hours a week, I surely wouldn't recommend doing it regularly your whole life. Not having work be your whole life healthily gives time for working out and hobbies.

So many people just cope.... Spend life searching for excuses.

it's not even just a 30+ thing, theres 18 year old kids here at my school who are flat out obese, your avg guy here is around 15-20% bodyfat

I dont understand kids who spend their youth being fat and out of shape. It blows my mind, something as simple as following a balanced diet and just walking more can maintain a healthy body composition, and people are still too lazy to even do that.

It's the emotional addiction to food and society lying to them saying their good just the way they are, when really they should be pushing kids to be the best they can be. I've had people try to argue with me sayin "i dont have a reason to get jacked anymore, im not in sports like i was in high school" how pathetic is that ? Just lol at the excuse of not having time, you dont have time to fckin eat controlled portions ???
