Trooper Kelly was shot four times during the exchange of gunfire Nov 7, 2017, on the side of Route 33 in Plainfiield Township. He arrived at a local hospital clinically dead. He spent 12 days in a medically-induced coma and 25 days in the hospital. He doesn't remember the shootout.

How they could not restrain him when he still didn't have a gun and was tazzed repeatedly? Do they need more training or more non lethal tools to deal with situations like this?

Do we know what drugs he was on? PCP and more? Ever tried to put someone in a cage that doesn’t want to go? I haven’t either but I have 3 friends that are officers and what it takes to stop people, it’s a miracle more aren’t shot dead. Trained or not, it would t be easy.

One of my cop bro’s just told a story where another officer friend of his was part of a shootout in another city. One of the 3 gang members shot was found a mile from the scene with 4 gunshot wounds, two of which were chest wounds and one in his heart. He died of course but wtf...a mile? That’s pure adrenaline.

I had a kid on pcp I was trying to arrest a few years back. He was about 5'7" 130. I'm 6'3" 215 and my backup is about 5'9" 200. The kid did a one armed pushup with both of us on his back.

This is where the excited delirium deaths happen. They are subconsciously exerting themselves so hard when they're on these drugs that their bodies burn out

They did a great job trying to subdue him but sometimes it’s almost impossible if someone does not want to be cuffed. Liked the way they dragged him out of traffic but that move could of cost them there life

I was thinking the same. The one cop who had his gun POINTED at the perp as he was going back to the car and digging for his gun had a wtf moment. There’s no way I’m not lighting his ass up once I see his intent is to get something from his car.
