Em has way more gold though. I can't even name all the verses or tracks he has released on his albums or other artists. He just has more great material than any other rapper. And I really like old Outkast.

Imagine old Andre and Em rapping together on a track back in like 1998

I'm not sure he has more gold than andre, but he has a lot of gold and his highs are really high, but to be fair to em, i think a lot of his trash is more to do with production/beats rather than his actual rapping ability. But the fact andre has released pretty much 0 trash is a marvel to me, you don't need to release the most great material to be GOAT imo, just enough material to display your ability, but i think not releasing trash defiantly harms the GOAT argument for em. If he had retired after the eminem show this may be a different discussion.

Southernplaylisticmusik, ATLiens, Aquiemini and stankonia are classics in the rap world, and speakerbox/love below went diamond.. considering the concept i find that remarkable, andre is just so creative and doesn't have to stick strictly to rap. Only point against him is no solo album. Andre has done a TON of features since outkast though and he always makes the guys he raps with sound basic, good examples are rick ross 'sixteen, and T.I 'sorry' (and i like T.I a lot).

Still all subjective and as i said before i really rate Em too, just not a fan of the last couple of albums bar a couple of songs. Although i thought his verse on caterpillar was fire and felt like the old em, and 'framed' was alright too and felt slim shady-esque. Your opinion is fair enough here though and i understand it, it's really close for me but i think i prefer andre/outkast.

But yeah i agree, would be fukkin amazing to hear, i'd like to hear outkast as a whole with em, em + big boi + andre 3000 would be amazing.

Looking forward to listening to this album after work, hope it lives up to the hype in this thread

I just think Eminem has more classic material overall and is more diverse. If we were talking most perfect rapper i would have to say it is Andre. I agree Outkast's first 3 albums are sick. I listen to them all the time lol. Stankonia was just OK to me compared to the other 3 though.

It definitely is subjective though and i agree that i wish Em hadn't released so much trash. For example Encore is like 70% trash with some gems that make you wonder why the fuk he would release that album with some of those chitty songs. A lot of his choruses have been cheesy too since The Eminem Show but like i said that's just how Em is and some of his choruses and singing parts are actually good. But he is diverse.

I thought stankonia was great it was just a change of direction to some more upbeat stuff... i think the fact andre is willing to experiment with different styles and still usually nails it is why i rank him so highly. I think andre is just more of an artist rather than just a 'rapper', but rap is obviously where he's phenominal

And yeah, i agree with the last part, i think em just tried to get too poppy and let a lot of producers interfere in his music that had no business working with him. Also probably best for him to leave the politics out, but then he wouldn't be Eminem.

Got to say this album is dope, much closer to the real Em and way better than anything he's released since Recovery.

This won't disappoint, I wasn't too keen on Revival but loved all his other stuff (unpopular opinion but loved his relapse phase) and the first track felt like he was "back"

i wonder if these established rappers have hatred for the soundcloud nu-rappers. they had to come out of the ghetto and prove themselves in rap battles while soundcloud guys just get high and mumble into their laptop microphones. lol.

Eminem, andre 3000, and big boi have all expressed negative feelings towards mumble rap. Andre has also rapped about how surprised he was to learn that some 'rappers' don't write their own material.

That sounds like the same old bullchit he was whining about on Relapse and Recovery damn near a decade ago now, save for an updated pop culture reference to Mike Pence.

But in all seriousness, read those lyrics to yourself out loud without actively rapping along to them like Eminem does. Any grown man who calls that "good music" is an embarrassment. Not only is a 45 year old rapper being vulgar on the level of a potty mouthed teenage punk kid, but it's the classic lazy rap that's not saying anything and is just stringing words together to make mostly random, nonsensical rhymes. Don't get me wrong, Eminem has made plenty of clever songs in the past (excessive vulgarity aside), but this trash is nothing to write home about based on his standards from 1996-2002.

What do you want a 45 year old to rap about? I think Em has made enough deep songs like When i'm Gone or Beautiful. If he made an album like that people would just say he is whining or talking about his daughter too much. The dude doesn't have the struggles he once had. He's rich and doing complex fast rapping more which he didn't do much in his early career.

He's rich and doing complex fast rapping more which he didn't do much in his early career.
That's exactly the problem, his music never evolved. In those lyrics I quoted, he was still making references to his past *ahem* "creatine" issues (we've heard plenty of that before), talks about jamming an ice pick up his schlong (immature bs he made more cleverly and humorous in his 20's) and moans about the Vice President (like he did with Bush/Cheney 15 years ago). The fact that he has struggled to get beyond that crap besides making about 20 different Hallie themed songs and that pity party Beautiful song you mentioned is pretty pathetic when you compare him to a lot of other greats.

Again, I'm not just saying he sucks. Just that he has sucked for about 15 years or so.
