I also noticed that my cell reception was pretty bad out there on AT&T. Not sure if I could get a cell booster or something that might help out around the property but damn.

LOL @ generator talk. If Dual didn't need it after the storm and then returned it, he would be putting it back in stock for the person that does need it. Therefore Dual is a good citizen by returning it. During the storm the need is not as great as afterwards when the power is out for a week or more.
And for the record, I bought 4 generators like R3L3NT did.
Not really, Costco should have increased the price to more closely match the current demand.
But, Dual could fix that on one of them by doing so.
People get all out of whack when you try to do supply/demand free market pricing though...even though itisthe most efficient. "price gauging"
At least in TX, "price gouging" is illegal. I have no idea what metrics they use to determine when it's become gouging or if it's only after a disaster/emergency or what, but you're not supposed to.
I recall last year during Harvey some dude got busted selling cases of water out of the back of his truck for crazy high prices. Had like a whole pallet. Don't remember if he got in legal trouble or just got so much hate from everyone and "shamed" into not doing it anymore.

[img]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dm5KPM2X0AApyCc.jpg[img]
I saw a headline today that they're thinking it could stall over the Carolinas and dump rain there. I hope y'all don't get the same kind of chit we did last year.

Maybe next time he wont' sell any of that water to anybody, **** them all, they are better off with no water than with expensive water. Such is the logic of laws against "price gouging"

How is it that people living in areas often affected by hurricanes still do not prepare themselves for such things?
BRB, need food. Rush to store last minute
BRB, need gas, rush to wait in line at gas station for hours
BRB, need generator again, after returning it when didn't need it the last time hurricane hit
BRB, ect, ect.

It really is a shame how many people don't understand that letting supply/demand set prices is actually better. This "price gouging" BS comes up all the time...such as the 2013 banic times.

Laws against "price gouging", price ceilings, and other artificially low prices (causing a shortage at that price) are about a effective as "gun free" zones enforced by signage. Emotional feel good but actually make things worse
