What if I don't want 6 brews and only want 1 or 2? Kettle is more work than it's worth more often than not. A Keurig can also make the 6 brews of hot water (leave out the coffee grounds cup) in that amount of time lol.

Always on the counter. Use it daily for French press coffee and iced tea which is always in my fridge.

Also very handy for regular cooking because it is much faster than boiling water on the stove. Those quick rice/cous cous/tabouleh/lentils/etc.? Actually quick when you have the water boiled in a minute.

Dinner in 10 minutes or less.

- put a pan on the stove to heat
- put water in the kettle/start
- put fresh seasoned meat in the pan (e.g. burger, pork chops, thin chicken breast)
- put quick grain in a glass bowl, dump in boiling water and cover
- chop some fresh veg or just add frozen to a glass bowl w/water to microwave 5 ish minutes
- check the meat while the veggies cook
- stir up the hot starchy stuff, season the veggies

Done.

That's just stupid. You can buy a poverty Mr. Coffee 12 cup drip coffee maker for 20 bucks at Target, and you spent half a year drinking it like a neanderthal just dumping grounds directly into a mug of hot water? U wat m8?

Women over here drink it, men rarely drink it.
Maybe that is why we are so big and good looking over here? We do not drink soy ridden tea.

And I have an electric kettle. Sits on the top shelf of my cupboard.

Pretty sure the PC crap started in EU. Sweden is a shining example. Getting pretty bad over here in the liberal states too though. Glad I live in a red state (red is republican).

If I really wanted tea... which is rare because I'm not some low test beta... I'd just use my coffee maker without the coffee. It's not rocket science.

Have never once needed a kettle ever in my life. Make tea in cups and coffee in the myriad of other ways not involving a kettle.
