Just in: This Cat 4 Hurricane is now at 155mph..

Cat 5 is 156mph

Never seen a hurricane that keeps getting stronger and stronger right up to landfall. Ususally the total opposite.

Any weather brahs have an explanation of why this one is defying logic?

confirmed 155mph 919mb? landfall. super high end cat 4, possibly cat 5.

not a weather man at all, but th eonly thing i could think of is deep very warm waters the entire way. it hit some wind shear and dry air and that usually hinders a storms ability to strengthen. but this is a storm to study, because this is NOT the norm.

Cat 4 at landfall, crazy. To put it into perspective, Katrina was hardly category 2 when it hit land. This storm probably won't cause as much damage because there's not much around where it made landfall

As of ten minutes ago they found 157 mph near the eye. They'll change this one to cat 5 landfall like they did Andrew in the coming months.

I've been through a bunch of hurricanes while living all over Florida for over 30 years, i love it when people downplay how dangerous they are because of past hurricanes.
