guys that I have worked with that hate their wives and/or home life in general are the ones that will work 60+ hours a week. ironically these guys tend to earn more because they work so much. I guess that helps keep the wife off his back.

I quit a job once because the one guy I worked with complained non-stop all day about how everything "sucked". his life sucked, his wife sucked, his kids sucked and so on. he said he only married her because he knocked her up in college and as a result he dropped out of school and came back to work where we were because he did an internship there. I legit couldn't take it after just a month. it was so depressing listening to him complain about life. dude would actually sleep in his truck in the driveway or at the office because he didn't want to go home and deal with all of it. poor bastard.

I’m not going to marry or even commit to a girl I can’t atleast imagine growing old with. Going home to her should be a highlight of my day, not a chore, otherwise I wouldn’t marry her and waste my time/money. Sex is too easy for me to “just put up” with a woman. My looks will fade too, you can only do so much to slow aging. It’s the attraction besides the physical that make a woman worth marrying.

Glad to see that the thread took a serious turn. Marriage works if people enter into it knowing that it takes work to sustain and flourish like the way you take care of any healthy relationship.

Those who are dead set against it project their experience on the whole world, trying to undermine every marriage. But that's cope.

The healthy way to look at marriage is to understand that many people get married for the wrong reasons so if you're confident in your ability to nurture a relationship with someone else, those wrong reasons need not necessarily apply to you.
