But was it their call? Lots of times they simply sell movie rights for a flat rate and then the studios have 100% of the power to do what they want. I still think Christian Bale could have kicked ass in it. He had that haunted warrior look in Hostiles:

Haven't played much Witcher, but doesn't Geralt have a pointier/straighter nose and a beard? Horrible casting tbh. I prefer it when they use unknown people in these roles like Ragnar for example.
