Chances are they won't bite but its not worth the riskNo hate to pits, or dogs in general. But having been recently attacked by a dog, dogs in general can cause very severe injuries to even grown adults let alone a child. Dog bites are crush injuries, underlying damage is almost always more severe than any visible lacerations. Crush injuries also take significantly longer to heal.
Would be awfully irresponsible to leave a child alone with a dog. Any interactions between the two should be supervised. Your child can’t do much damage to your dog, your dog could kill your child.

Maybe we should ban large vehicles, because if you get hit by a large vehicle you have a higher chance of injury or death. Everyone who owns a big truck is just trying to look tough...right?
Someone link the dachshund story if they have it, I've gotta see that.

However, that in no way means you're more likely to be attacked. Just looking at fatalities doesn't tell the whole story. If you got T-boned by a Geo Metro, you're likely to escape with far less damage than if you got T-boned by an F350, but it doesn't mean you're more likely to get hit by one or the other.

I would bet money (srs), that if you did what I said, check the inpatient logs of all US hospitals / morgues, the highest dog fatalities attacks would come from pitbull and pitbull mixes.
Anyway I'm done here.

The point is, just because something is stronger, larger, etc, doesn't mean you're more likely to be involved in an incident.
That clear enough for you?

How are we supposed to check it exactly? P sure inpatient logs are not just handed out to any stranger or even any family member. And why do you keep ignoring the fact that eyewitness counts are not reliable?
No one is going to neg you again. I'm already on R/C, and as long as you can continue to discuss civilly, so will we. And if we can have a legitimate conversation without insults, I'll even go so far as to remember to rep you next time to offset the neg if you're that worried about it
Also would love some proof on the claim that any trace of pitbull genetics means a dog is instantly more likely to attack.

Lets assume your graph indicating 284 pitbull bites happened. Compare that to the estimated 29 people who die daily in the US (an actually tracked statistic by the NHTSA). Maybe we should just make alcohol and Pits illegal and solve all our problems. There is a certain threshold to safety risks in which it is not worth worrying about. If 284 people were killed by different Pitbulls then thats 0.00007% of all Pits in the United States. There are more deaths every year from things that people do everyday that are not a necessity to life, but make them happy than there are from Pits. You guys out on a crusade against Pits should put your energy else where. Though I am in favor of making people actually pass tests before they're allowed to own potentially dangerous dogs.
