There's no story there. He was KO'd early in the fight. Insta-rematches are bad for everybody, including fans.

Let Stipe beat a top five guy to put himself in position for a rematch.

I would be saying something different if DC had won a close decision or even if it was close and DC got a finish in the championship rounds. But an instant rematch isn't warranted under the circumstances.

I'm not saying I don't agree with you, but a rematch with Stipe wouldn't be unique

Cody got an immediate rematch after getting KO'd in the 2nd round, Joanna rematched Rose, Cain rematched JDS immediately

It's actually kind of laughable that Stipe is the lone person to not get a rematch, all things considered

I don't even want to see that fight, but I can't say it's not deserved if we go off of historical examples

Edit: Cain/JDS wasn't an immediate rematch. Forgot that one. Point still stands though

lol the same people hating on DC are probably jones nuthuggers. DC finishes fights. Donny Dones Dones hasn't had a stoppage (crappy TKO) since 2013 vs a weak chael P. sonnen.

just goes to show you the sport is all about money. The problem is DC said he will retire in less than 6 months so theres no time for Stipe to fight another person and then come back to fight DC...i think they should have waited on this one and have a Stipe DC 2 in January (since cormier allegedly had a hand issue and needed more time to train)

The best would be if DC beats Lesnar, Jones, and then somehow Fedor to seal the deal as the GOAT

His attitude is that he's a brawler and prize fighter, not a mixed martial artist. He'll take over as gatekeeper of the HW division like Roy Nelson became, only he'll get paid a lot more.

I just can't get into mma, the talent is just so bad. Many of these guys look like amateurs. You should be at least decent in the main aspects of mma to be allowed in the ring. Is Derrick even high school level for wrestling e.g.?

Unfortunately Weidman's problem is lack of power, he's a great fighter, his combos were great, just not enough power to finish fights with his hands.
