Afternoon MFC

Ate way too much as expected. About to get the Christmas stuff out of the building and let my wife have at it while I sit on the deck with a cigar and debate ordering a kit from Cajun Gun Works. I decided against it after I got that Vortex Gen 2 for $700 last night but I half expect that it was a mistake and they'll be sending a cancellation email next week.

Oh . . . emmm . . . geee, I am uncomfortably full and tired. Just poured a bourbon and will be naptime soon.

First Thanksgiving without dad, which just didn't feel quite right. But mom was in high spirits, so was really good to get everyone together over here.

Maybe not have a president run his mouth about punishing and what not only to do nothing as usual, hard to take him serious at all when that happens.. there’s videos running around of him saying he doesn’t do business with Saudi and then vice versa.. which is it?

There will be consequences, priorly according to trump, for the murder of a US resident, or now there won’t be any consequences ...

But I mean Americans love Saudi now I guess and think they have nothing to pay for... it’s not like they’ve ever harmed this country in any way. Let’s just hug and kiss one another I guess

She's actually doing remarkably well . . . but she's a tough old lady, so I'm not completely shocked. We've spent a lot of time with her and she's had some close friends come into town to hang out with her, so she has a lot of support (and I live about 15 minutes away from her).

The way this all went down, with the years-long Alzheimer's battle, the fall and then the rapid decline into hospice I think made it easier for her to cope with. With the Alzheimer's alone, there's a certain inevitability to it--you just never know when that decline will accelerate. When it definitely started going downhill she was able to get her head around what was going to happen and she could prepare. That's especially true once they said he should move to hospice. That's game over time. And she always talked about how dad said he never wanted to end like his mom did (dementia) so the fact that he was "getting out" from a state he would have hated was some added comfort.

So it's tough for her to lose the love of her life from the last 50+ years, but there was some transition there and some semblance of "relief" (for lack of a better term) that you wouldn't have if he passed away suddenly/unexpectedly.

For a little cheaper pricing, sign up for notifications from Academy. It's been popping in and out of stock there for the past few days. Alternatively, you could try to get Cabelas or Bass Pro to price match, some had luck with that.

Surely this is Consitutional . . .

https://www.foxnews.com/us/gun-purch...rk-legislation

Those looking to buy a gun in New York may need to submit their social media profiles and search history prior to purchase if new firearm legislation in the state becomes law.

Under the legislation drafted by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and State Senator Kevin Parker, both Democrats, up to three years’ worth of search history on social media would be able to be reviewed, ABC Action News reported.

Senate Bill 9191, according to WHAM, mandates "social media and search engine reviews prior to the approval of an application or renewal of a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver; requires a person applying for a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver or a renewal of such license to consent to having his or her social media accounts and search engine history reviewed and investigated for certain posts and/or searches over a period of 1-3 years prior to the approval of such application or renewal; defines terms."

Under the proposed legislation, law enforcement officials could investigate "commonly known profane slurs used or biased language used to describe race, national origin, ancestry, gender, religion, disability or sexual orientation; threatening health or safety of another person, or an act of terrorism."
