And for those who wonder for why they don't get responses
the results also showed that both men and women often tried to date ‘out of their leagues’ by messaging partners who were about 25 percent more desirable than themselves. In contrast, almost no users contacted partners who were significantly less desirable.

It fits with what I've seen IRL. Early 20 y/o female friends often have several hundreds matches and pending matches and usually don't even bother responding. Yesterday I was with a few attractive 30 y/o female friends and saw their tinder. Literally just a small handfull of matches, and often they don't get any response or get ghosted after a date. One of them also asked me if I could find a friends for her to hook up with because she had no luck on apps. They had the same negative view of dating apps as a lot of miscers have nowadays. Just sent one them the link from the op and got "Well that explains a lot" as response

The study cited in the op looked at 200,000 accounts - hard to argue about the sample size - and replicated results found in other studies.

The findings are likely to be valid. Arguing against it based on anecdotes is nothing more than cope.

I expect that from women, not from men.

Online dating has just made me realize how ugly I really am. I try to shoot below my supposed league and still fail to garner any attention. I really doubt I'm shooting above my league by that much because I have swiped right on some really bottom of the barrel looking girls out of desperation.

I have also never been attracted to young girls. I have a minimum age of 28 set on my profile but a lot of women aged 28 and up prefer older, more established gentlemen. I get more attention from younger girls that don't seem to get that much attention in real life because they are either ugly or overweight.
