Read "The subtle art of not giving a fu#k". I'm only a few chapters in, but it seems promising.

Why would you want to do that or are you using those terms in a ****gy hipster way?

Pessimism and Nihilism are some of the goat philosophical schools of thought..BRB Schopenhauer, Nietzche, E.M. Cioran.

Not everyone wants to be around random drunk people dude. Even if i went out to a bar alone i wouldn't talk or drink. Bars are not for me anymore.

Of course it's easy for people who already have friends and drink. Anyone can pregame and go to a bar. I want a real connection with someone.

Doing good and genuinely helping others tends to get people out of this predicament

Instead of constantly consuming, start producing. Volunteer somewhere, help people, try to make the world a better place. I always feel better and happier when I do that.

There's no reason you can't have a nihilistic outlook and thoroughly enjoy life, I'd actually argue it helps in that regard

Most people have been brought up with a morality that stems from a religion, even if they do not realise it. Yes there's a reason you think stealing is bad, and NO, it's not because stealing is bad... it's because you've been taught to believe that stealing is bad

People don't realise how deep the indoctrination of their entire worldview is, and so when they find out about the idea of nihilism, they think it's wrong or something. It's the complete reverse, ever see small children interacting and have yet to learn how to act in the society they find themselves in? They're little sheitheads, they don't hold the morality that we have been learned to hold, they're pure in a sense... not for long though. Soon they too will believe things that are not true, and have a sense of good and bad that is not true.

So basically you're in a place where you think it's bad to hold a nihilistic worldview, because you have been taught to think of it as a negative thing, it doesn't have to be, it's literally only a negative thing because you're saying it's a negative thing. It's not a negative thing to me

Though I will say... most people are not strong enough, and self delusion is actually healthier for them than knowledge of the reality of things

One thing you could do is to find the experiences in your past that have made you think like this and then question yourself if your interpretation of the events is correct.

Also can you name one experience you have had in the past that plays on your mind to this day and why? Something which has made you pessimistic about life or people?

For example: someone who may have bullied you or wronged you in some way

don't think it's anything to conquer

most people use some sort of distraction or self-delusion

but i think it's possible to make peace with the recognition that time marches everyone and everything towards permanent annihilation

Nihilism is the realm of the inexperienced and the immature. It's an early stage for most people. You should get over it if you continue to develop.

I guess he's just a juvenile, huh. Discovering electroweak symmetry is definitely something an inexperienced and immature person does.

Same way I cope with depression. I try to appreciate the simple things in life and think of how fortunate I am. There are *******s in third world countries and kids that are starving and sht and just so many ppl in the world just living far worse lives. I'm here chilling drinking my tea, sitting in my air conditioned room and listening kpop just comfortably rotting away. I'm living like a phuking king compared to so many ppl so I'm grateful for that. Also, hookers.

strong response

The only meaning in life is the one you give it. I think it's a massive waste of time right now because I have no one that sees the world as I do. If I had a 10/10 partner I could relate to things would be different. But if it were that easy everyone would have exactly what they wanted. I find enjoyment being in nature and rotting at home playing Xbox. Sex helps a ton but it comes and goes. Find or make a funny thread, have a good laugh, and feel better tomorrow.

I'd say it depends on when you started to become pessimistic. If you grew up in a negative environment during your adolescent years, those feelings will definitely stay with you for the rest of your waking life.

You clearly don’t get it. The point is not about ones actual room. Or, about aiming so low that you’re not doing anything worthwhile. It’s about making incremental improvement in ones life and setting realistic goals to start so you don’t immediatly fail and end up angry.

These aren’t new ideas and they actually work.

I think as you get older, you eventually realize how much life sucks. Everything we do is just to chit out babies and get them to survive to chit out some of their own. Your entire life is school/try to get pussy -> work/try to get pussy -> eventually get pussy and spawn chitters -> get money to pay for chitters -> grow old/never get pussy -> rot and die. That's your fuking life. It's one giant cycle of chit. We are nothing. There is no grand purpose. There is no meaning. This universe couldn't give a fuk about you. If God exists, it doesn't give a fuk about you. And the saddest thing of all is people who follow that pointless cycle and achieve those milestones end up happy because that's all we evolved to do. LOL It's a cruel joke. We are just systems of particles.

The only way to do so is by reprogramming your brain by repetition. Live a lie and believe in delusion, to escape the truth.
