Compared to other online communities is an awfully low bar. I know a number of online communities that have actually accomplished positive things in the real world. The misc has accomplished nothing of value and is full of toxicity.

Just curious, but how many of you "trans is a mental illness" people actually know a trans person IRL? I suspect the number is close to zero and most of you are just parroting the right wing bull**** of your tribe.

It's classified under DSM-5 as a disorder, and gender "dysphoria" was a newly crafted term to alleviate stigma.

It was previously referred to as Gender Identity Disorder, and several countries have lost their chit and changed the rules for the sake of being PC.

Feelings trumping science as usual.

If this place is toxic and offers nothing of value, then why are you posting here?

Lived with one at university for one year, FTM bearded drag queen. As in biologically female, legally changed sex, testosterone injections, lived as a man but dressed as a woman for chits and giggles. Generally very mentally unstable, manic depressive, probably a whole host of other issues. Only friends were other LGBTXYZers.

As a self-proclaimed 'scientist' you should know there is no genuine physiological scientific explanation for 'gender dysphoria'. It's a psychological problem, don't even get me started on 'gender' itself. I'm not getting into this, it's pointless. I suspect you're just another soulless bugman who should go back to reddit.

I disagree, but it sounds like you shouldn't be here if all you see is toxicity and negativity. What do you get out of this place then? I've made multiple close friendships off here with some really solid guys, and while I've seen some really ****ty behavior on here I've also seen some really stand-up dudes and gals on here behaving in a really stand-up fashion.

Anyways it seems like you've made your mind on this place so I won't argue any more with you on it - I'm just confused as to why you would still post here.

to be fair i didn't really pay attention or care about the trans community till mothers started giving their 8 year old's pills for liking the color pink and playing with dolls. Kids should be allowed to grow mentally and go through different phases without drugs.

As a self-proclaimed 'scientist' you should know there is no genuine physiological scientific explanation for 'gender dysphoria'. While I have zero problems with trans people as a whole, I feel bad for many of them.

I've interacted with quite a few, and I've picked up on their insecurity due to their looks even after they change genders. It's a little sad once you pick up on it.

Not all of them are like that, but a good amount still remain unhappy.

While this is kinda funny and a little crazy to watch, I can't help but feel really sorry for trans people

I mean most of my friends and I are pretty resolute about how we'd never date a trans person, no matter how well they pass off. And most don't pass off very well, and probably get tons of passing glances and weird looks whenever they're out and about. I think most have tons of issues with their families too, and may feel like a disappointment to their father or w/e. Would really really suck to think you're trapped in the wrong body.

This.

I work as an ER nurse now, use to do critical care. You can't imagine how in some areas this is something I see 5-6 times a day, sometimes more. People are psychotic.

In emergency medicine it's scary because we aren't allowed to refuse people unless they are disruptive or breaking the law, but management always sides on the "customer is always right" thing

Accomplished what? Lemme guess

-Raised money for ____ charity. Misc has done it, GTFO.

-Brainwashed people into parroting whatever progressive diarrhea you believe in and possibly holding marches in favour of said ideology. Pls go.

Misc has it's problems like any group, but in a world saturated by progressive censorship and emotional thinking it's refreshing to observe and participate in discussion that largely does not prescribe to this censorship.

I have seen plenty of circle jerks on this forum but less than on other boards tbh. There is at least always one (usually more) voice of reason and logic in any serious discussion.

I used to be one of the adult voices. I spoke up when these little *******s convinced a kid to kill himself and when they egged on the guy posting hacked nudes of a woman to her job's forum. Now I don't bother. The forum is just gone to ****. I just stop by for the memes and girls in underwear. In for strong join date to post count posts.

Seriously?

Its a grown ass MAN dressed as a women throwing a fit in public, growling and knocking stuff over, threatening to fight some tiny kid that's 15-20 years younger than him all because he was called the wrong pronoun by accident.....Even if you completely ignore politics or the fact that HE's a tranny, that chit is clear and present mental instability.

Thank You. I was JUST getting ready to quote DSM-5 you beat me to it.

I really feel sorry for the kid. He's either been fired or ordered to sit through hours of LGBTQ sensitivity training videos and seminars or some chit, and all for some crappy job that just barely pays more than minimum wage.
