Even though I hate a lot of the acts mentioned, and I like others... I don't think many of these people are over-rated as far as being front men.

If I had to pick someone it would be one of these goofs like King Diamond or ICP. These clown rock or clown music goofballs who have a following for some damn reason. They are literally a parody of themselves and they don't seem to be aware of it.

Pearl Jam Ten

Green Day Dookie
Alanis Morisette Jagged Little Pill (don't judge, it's a great album)
Hole Live Through This
Nevermind obviously
Radiohead The Bends
Alice in Chains Jar of Flies

I actually front a Green Day tribute band and it's a blast every time we play.
You forgot STP-Core

Appetite is one of the greatest albums ever.

No shame in "Jagged Little Pill". I mentioned it before, but I saw her on that tour, Taylor Hawkins on drums, and it was awesome. She even played two songs off of "The Bends".

Best song on "Jar of Flies" is "Don't Follow". Underrated.

On recharge with ChristmasFnatic and WoofieNugget.

I never in a thousand years would guess that anyone who is admittedly a fan of Tool would say Keenan is an overrated frontman. You blew my mind bro.

You can have a distinctive sound, stage presence/crowd control or musical skill. Pick two.

Stephen Tyler and David Lee Roth are terrible musicians but have distinctive voices and amazing stage presence. Kurt Cobain had distinctive sound and he was a very skilled musician (which a lot of people don't know). Anthony Kiedis established ska punk sounds (he wrote all of their early lyrics) and had great energy but couldn't do anything else. Axl had a distinctive sound and put on a good show by being a dick. Etc, etc.

Freddie Mercury had all three, which made him among the GOATs.
lmao at Kurt Cobain being a very skilled musician, dude was barely even a musician

Even tho I disagree with 90% of the posts itt, it does go to show the vast differences in musical tastes. Totally mind blown at some of you but everyone is entitled to their own opinion obviously. Hopefully we agree that Freddie Mercury was one of the best front men ever?

Well he quit on the band and was openly a cock smoker alienating a big portion of his potential fan base. Good singer yes. Good front man? I'd say he hurt more than he helped. Americans of that era liked our rockstars ambiguously gay like Bowie and Elton John. Not openly gay like Freddie.

I kept hearing songs on the radio that were pretty good and I thought it was her. Later realized it was The Pretty Reckless. Tried finding some good halestorm songs. Failed miserably.

That's a good one.

He's rock but I don't even think of him as being a rocker. I like two of his songs and all the rest weren't great and his voice is not a favorite of mine, yet he's super famous. I don't get it.
