Why Aren't Millennials Spending? They're Poorer Than Previous Generations, Fed Says
https://www.npr.org/2018/11/30/67210...rents-fed-says

Since millennials first started entering the workforce, their spending habits have been blamed for killing off industries ranging from casual restaurant dining to starter houses. However, a new study by the Federal Reserve suggests it might be less about how they are spending their money and more about not having any to spend.[/bn]

A study published this month by Christopher Kurz, Geng Li and Daniel J. Vine found millennials are less financially well-off than members of earlier generations when they were the same ages, with "lower earnings, fewer assets and less wealth."
Their finances were compared with Generation X, baby boomers, the silent generation and the greatest generation.
The researchers examined spending, income, debt, net worth and demographic factors among the generations to determine "it primarily is the differences in average age and then differences in average income that explain a large and important portion of the consumption wedge between millennials and other cohorts."

The study also noted newer financial obstacles for millennials. Broad economic trends depict a rise in health care expenditures, as well as a rise in college tuition that has outpaced general inflation that previous generations avoided in their young adulthood.

Just read a story yesterday that on average, a millennial will only hold a job for 90 days before quitting or getting fired. That might help explain not having the things previous generations had.

Makes a guy wonder about the stock market, if the next generation isn't playing along it could have major impacts on the pricing?

My conspiracy theory is that will be the next thing to "crash". The middle class is already being priced out of education and real estate. Then, the powers that be are going to tank the market and crush off hopes of retirement for everyone. Obviously while making **** tons of money for themselves in the process.

that feel when unable to afford a home because of inflated market caused by boomer retard speculators just buying up sheit and letting it sit empty and millions of third worlders dilluting labor market supply suppressing your wages, no sense of community, constantly surrounded by foreigners and strangers, realizing that having a traditional happy family with a wife and kids that love you is an adolescent fantasy that no longer exists since women have been lead to believe that their 20s should be better spent "working" making pointless power points or some useless sheit for $15/hr and taking hormone birth control pills destroying their reproductive system and comitting fornication with a large crowd of 50+ men being told sex not the sacred act of creating a new life but it is instead just something for fun like a "sport" or "experience" and fornication "empowering" when it really just destroys their ability to love or trust or bond with any future husband. When you realize your life is meaningless and when you die nobody will even notice you're gone. Surrounded by ugly brutal concrete structures and asphalt everywhere you look. Suffocating from the pressure around you you can't do anything without permission from big daddy government. All the "food" sold at the stores is filled with soy and unnatural amounts of sugar and chemicals and hormones and herbicides and pesticiedes and wrapped in testosterone destroying plastics and everything you touch is made of xenoestrogen chemicals intended to destroy you. View any media and get constantly bombarded with anti you propaganda promoting the most vile perverted degenerate filth beyond anything you could even imagine in your worst nightmare then you're being called a bigot "ist" or "phobe" for not thinking it is normal or good for a healthy society. Sedated by pornography readily given for free to distract you from your pain and loneliness . Tell a doctor you don't feel well and just get dosed with anti depression drugs to better deal with the sick society you're thrust into and turning you into a soulless meat puppet zombie living your days in a disassociated state until you just end it yourself or overdose on narcotics or alcohol. But we live in America the greatest country to ever exist, just pull yourself up from your bootstraps, gotta love living in America the greatest civilization to ever exist right ?

Well there could be other explanations.

It could be that they're financial fine and just prefer to save for example.

Its relevant news to conclude everyone is actually just broke

What he should've said is that a baby boomer could go to work straight out of highshool and support a family on a single income. Can't do that anymore, not even close.

Its not their fault man. Look up tetraethyl lead exposure and its effects. They just use their experience getting a job, house and family (laughably easy) and just assume that not that much has changed and that the new generation are just lazy. It can still be done even if its harder though. I live a more frugal version of the boomer lifestyle myself with a family and house in the suburbs. Which reminds me with all the rain and warming temps around here its about time to break out the angle grinder and sharpen those mower blades up *sips* white monster

lot of these millennials are also getting dumb fukkin degrees that have no real value in the real world. They're dropping 60k into dance therapy with a minor in cat whispering and can't find a job other than Starbucks.

then they bitch that the system isn't fair.
