At least you got injured doing something cool.

2 days ago I dislocated a rib adjusting the chest pad on a hammer strength row machine.

Sucks man, injuries are a major bummer. Hope you heal quickly and get back to grinding as soon as possible.

Seems like you are getting injured quite a bit and you are only 25.

Maybe reduce your workloads for a while and wait until your muscles mature. You don't want to hit 30 with multiple injuries that will be hihgly prone to re-occurring when you are at your strongest yet slowest recovery time (how ironic is aging!)

Why would you even bother trying to lift 200kg? Are you a powerlifter, competing? I just don't get it.

He was doing it for sets of 5... that's nowhere near 1RM type weight. Maybe 200kg just isn't all that much to him because he's not a little bish.

That sucks Ash... I don't think it's a tear or at least not a full tear. If it were torn you wouldn't even be able to support yourself doing a pushup. Keep eating and stay as hydrated as possible. See what the sports doc says and do whatever they say, but my guess is you'll be good to go in a week or two. Just don't go ham the first couple sessions back

the hardest part of being injured is admitting to yourself that you are actually injured. Heal and recover and come back stronger than ever OP.

RIP in peace!

jk! Sorry Ash, being injured really sucks. Do what the Dr says and make sure you rest and don't try to be crazy when you do go back to it.

Also, now that you're injured and I'm coming to Canada, maybe I should challenge you to a lift off!

lolz

At least I wouldn't be a huuuuuuuge pussy and back out last minute like some people we know!

After I tore my pec, I couldn't lift any weights so I ran two miles around a track. And I mean literally right after I tore it. Not a few days later. It's a man thing, I suppose. Ain't no torn muscle gonna keep us away from fitness.

Ashwar, this is one my biggest concerns with going heavy on anything anymore. I can't tear another muscle. I shutter when I think about it.

Sorry to hear it Ashwar. I'm dealing with a bicep tendon injury. No pulling, and lighter weight on everything else.

I'm turning into a twink in a matter of weeks.

Consider a more moderate approach to lifting with lower weight, higher reps, sufficient rest days, and taking complete rest when you are injured instead of pushing through.

If you lift in moderation and for your health you’ll be much better off in your forties than if you’re riddled with injuries, joint issues, aches and pains etc at that age.

Deadlifts... not even once. Majority of all injuries i see are from that exercise.
In b4 ''proper form prevents injuries''.

It does...I don't expect someone like you to get that.

Yes, I deadlift 700 and have never been hurt deadlifting. Chances are that OP had a tweak or something wrong before he was lifting.

This approach is very dumb. I think Ash knows better. There is nothing wrong with lifting heavy. It needs to be done in moderation along with adequate rest and recovery. But it's a pretty bold assumption to just say he is ego lifting, pushing through injuries, and not resting... if he is doing that he's wrong, but you can absolutely lift heavy with longevity without sacrificing your health.
