Yeah Qyburn caught up with Tyrion about the latest news in King's Landing.

The level of cope from you is hilarious.

Agree that GRRM clearly hit writers block though. He made his story too big and now can't finish it.

All the stuff that he planned hasn't occurred - the 5 year time skip (which would have been used to explain Arya coming back as an assassin - 5 years being taught by the Faceless Men instead of a few months, etc) - he gave up on it as he realised he was writing too many flashback scenes to explain the intervening 5 years.

The story got away from him. it's a shame, but that's how it is.
He could easily reign it in with WoW... just kill off a few characters to trim the overall story. And Get Dany to Westeros already... Jesus Christ.

I didn't find it difficult to believe Cersei not attacking Dany / Tyrion etc, though it was about self-preservation and not honor or whatever.

-Cersei and Euron are exposed on the wall, and Drogon is way back there ready to pounce if chit went sideways
-Drogon is massive compared to Rhaegal and would not have been NEARLY as easy to drop, I sure as phuck believe he could have taken out that entire section of wall before going down
-Dany was out of range of the regular archers, so they'd be trying to hit her tiny body with the scorpions and thus leaving an opening for Drogon to attack

Drogon is the reason Dany and Tyrion went there to negotiate Cersei's surrender, because he alone could probably still raze King's Landing. Simply put, he was their protection. Drogon could just throw his body at them and kill everyone in that section of wall

You’re right. My bad. Not sure how much Glaber was in it in S1 until the last few eps. Seems like both were featured a lot more in S2.

Edit: maybe I need to watch it again and my memory is just failing me lol

No, it really isn't. You are letting your attachment to the show blind your judgment. Think of it this way: if this was a new show with some generic name that you knew nothing about, your judgment on the writing/story would be completely different.

Spartacus was definitely the GOAT show and what added to its greatness was it wasnt milked. I had its few seasons, served its purpose and it was over plus the best dialog ever.

Black sails is also another great show and of course vikings

Littlefingers long cons were great but at some point he becomes useless because the end is actually here. He ran out of ways to take advantage of the chaotic ladder he shaped bc the story was inevitably going to move away from him.

Tyrion being a Stark level politician now is bad in retrospect but I am deliberately choosing to believe his arc on the show goes from smart with no respect overall to meh with a lot of sway. How he interacts with Varys/Cersei/Jamie over the next 2 episodes will be what I ultimately take away from him. Tyrion in the books goes from smart and good natured overall to very dark when he goes into exile. The show didn't have time to flesh that storyline all the way out.

Seemed pretty obvious based on facial reactions that the others were magically able to hear their conversation.

Black Sails fell off a cliff when Charles Vane died. Vikings started to suck around the whole Paris-invasion arc.

Almost every show becomes stale in the end.

I mean, Missandei saying "Dracarys" as her last words were obviously meant for Dany to hear. She didn’t scream it if I remember correctly. Seemed like they could all hear everything to me. Apparently they all had those Avengers earpieces.

While I am biased towards the show I don't think it comes close to the majority of programs currently out there. Billions and Ozark are the only other shows I'm currently watching that are in mid stream that come close to GOT for me. The shows very popular amongst the masses (e.g. Greys Anatomy) are mediocre to me.

Billions is beginning to drop for me bc the storyline is becoming too complicated with unnecessary pop culture references. It's beginning (imo) to insist upon itself with every character dropping rare phrases or references that no one uses in everyday life.

Varys is still around isn’t he? And he’s basically another version of Littlefinger. I would have liked to have seen him (Littlefinger) side with Cersei since Varys is on the other side. He would actually been a much better “Hand of the King” than Qyburn.

Doesn't look like everyone is able to hear everything. Sounds like just the 2 right hand men are having the convo with each other at first.

Ya Tyrion already knew, but from Eurons point of view, Qyburn could have said something to him before he approached Cersei.

The only thing I hated about Billions was John Malkovich playing a Russian oligarch. His accent was horrid lol. I see your point though.

Ozark is a great call. Excellent show.

I like that angle but the show shelfed Varys during the WW story because he's not useful there. His maneuvering to kill Dany now might be an interesting way to finish his arc. I think the truncated timelines are the main reason for all of the current disappointments.

Good discussion btw. Enjoy this level of banter without personal shots and be all end all statements.
