It's ridiculous. Basically had a calm conversation with my GF about ads within the media that highlight obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle. It somehow dissolved into apparently an attack on females, and how "idk how hard girls have it growing up striving to attain a body like a super model".... uh u wot m8? Aren't the vast majority of marketing at males geared towards tall and fit attractive men as well? How is that any different... suddenly she starts bursting into tears when I bring up that point and the convo is over.

Jesus females are ridiculous

Women put a ton of work into looking good. Brb an hour in the mirror every morning, picking outfits, having their hair/nails done. Sloots have to put a lot more effort on than dudes do.

Pretty much this. Females will stick up for other females tho no matter how fat they are all in order to make themselves feel better. If you are comfortable being fat or whatever, all the power to you... but once you start bashing the media's portrayal of healthy body image, and making yourself comfortable with laziness and being "hot at any size" it starts to get ridiculous

Ofc course they process it as a personal insult because it's a hivemind attitude when it comes to appearance. Nearly every woman in their early 20s just coasts by doing nothing other than sleeping+eating, they get validated by 99% of the male population so when that mid 20s bloat comes in they don't have the discipline to change their lifestyle. You should know by now if you call out any female the rest will run in like a pack of hyenas. Males will only if it's warranted, otherwise they will be: "Well you made your bed".

Women just have to not be fat and take care of their skin - and even then some thirsty idiot will still be all over her. The "checklist" for males is a small book and covers not only appearance but all forms of social status and factors that CANNOT be changed--or without great cost/pain--such as height, hair etc. Yet men are expected to take it on the chin if they are ridiculed in mainstream media or a social setting, but if you call a female fat on a TV show etc... you sign your own death.

In one of my classes for my design course, I had a subject called 'Masculinities' and we looked at how products are made for men vs women, things like colours etc. Anyway, that subject went out into social aspects too and one thing you realize is how mens body image has been neglected for the better half of this decade, its only now academics are seriously realizing how serious it is and the negative effects its had

That’s cool but a hot guy is treated better than an ugly guy..women the last 10 years have called themselves guys, asked for equal pay for unequal work Ect ect. Women just need to not get fat and put on flattering make up and put in effort.

Men have it just as bad and i've seen first hand with my older brothers which was something i didnt even realize until uni.

The difference is its something thats not spoken about with men, but it definitely exists.

exactly, it's because of body image issues. No ones forcing men to become 'feminised' (which is something I disagree w as well), they feel the need to so they can meet a certain level of perceived beauty standards set for them

Just remember fam men are conditioned not to bitch. We have it bad, but we just don’t talk about it. Same is true for chronic pain conditions. Women will see a dr men are less likely to.

This whole world is crashing down with a clash of reality vs a perception that is wrong.

I didn't really feel any pressure the way I was raised and my culture. I am very lucky that way. But I do agree what you are saying. I think especially if the little girl actually is a pretty girl, everyone points it out. So, the pretty girl hears that all the time and might think, that's what she's supposed to be since everyone points it out and compliments her for it.

As someone with a chronic condition that sees a pt weekly, bull****. My condition has a clientel of 85% female 15% male . This is true despite statistics in other countries where is almost a dead tie on clientele. Arguing without facts is like losing to a retard on a spelling bee and convincing them that you won.
