Homeowner brahs

What is your monthly power bill?

Ours averages $600 or so. Last months bill came and it's $900+. I figure that's the high side of average normally, but maybe I'm wrong?

It depends on the time of year, but it averages around 100 bucks per month. What the fuk are you doing to get a $600.00 per month bill?

Would need to dig into my actual bills to see what Power alone costs since I get everything from a single provider, but my entire utility bill (power, natty gas, water, garbage collection, etc) has peaked at just a hair over $500 in the worst winter months when it's -40 outside

It'll drop down to as low as $220 during the summer months

home is 3500 sq ft, DC burbs, avg summer temps 90's

75 during day 72 at night= 250-350 2 year old system

We have electric heat and window-unit A/C - ours are around 300/mo during peak seasons.

We used to get $600 bills with surprise bills like yours. Then one day the electric company switched our meter to a digital one and haven't had an issue since.

My mom lives in a 6k sq ft house and the power bill is only around $400 in the summer when its 100 degrees outside and she keeps it on 72 inside. I know its different in different areas but something appears to be very wrong OP. Maybe some other California brahs can chime in on rates

Edit: My house is 1700 sq ft and my bill ranges from 100 to 200

Wat ???? My unit is 2 years old and runs 8 months out of the year on 77 and never had a bill higher than $165, when guests are over it goes up to about $190 but never over 200. 1800 sq ft home

The meter reader was probably only coming around once every 3 months and under charged you 2 straight months and that is why you had a big jump like that. When they changed out your meter they have to read it when its retired so you would have gotten a credit if they were consistently not reading it.

There was one town in my state where the meter reader hadn't read anyone's meter in years and had just used the last usage he got and when they finally caught on some people had bills of like $1700 they had to pay while others got huge credits when they finally pulled the accurate readings

About $60-70 in winter, and $150 in summer. 2100 sqft house. In California, too (SCE). No idea what your problem is.

Wait, hold up guys, we're forgetting who we're talking too. Chances are OP probably waits until he gets a shut off notice, and then has to pay the current month and previous months in order to keep his chit on. That makes more sense than someone paying 8-10k per year in electric costs.

3200 sq ft., and our power bill is somewhere around $180-200 a month, maybe $220-240 in the hot Summer months.

But I keep getting calls from my bank saying I have to still pay them every month
Makes no sense
I bought the house when I signed all those papers, I own it
I don't understand why I would keep paying them for something that I already own?
I think it's a scam so I just "lol @ them" on the phone and hang up
It's been about four or five months since I bought it
Has anyone else run across this?
