I went and looked at a couple. I've been looking for a little pickup, partially for utility, but mostly just for daily driving and weekend convenience. Tacomas are old and busted now. I figured a little Canyon would be great. Don't need some fancy tryhard vehicle loaded with space tech or race slicks, just a little 4wd truck with the basics. They make one with a little diesel that gets ok mileage. Perfect.

Car salesman brah literally smirked when I asked him to confirm the out the door price

Trucks are so fkkin overprice now that it's insane. Pickups used to be 50% what similar trim cars cost. Then all the try hard bros got into them.

They had a ton of trucks on the lot for $85k+, the kind you see 100 of every day. I guess I missed the memo where everyone decided it was ok to have their anoos reamed out by these car makers.

Truck prices are mostly because of the Obama emissions bull****, Trump's trying to roll it back but of course the bureaucrats are fighting him.

Do you know how much profit margin is built in so they can trick tradies into thinking they got a great deal by paying $80k for a truck? It's like mattress stores that are perpetually having going out of business last chance clearance sales.

trade-ins are huge among truck enthusiasts.

luxury vehicles have entered the truck market, many are pushing 6 figures.

Cot damn. I'll be in the market for a truck in a few years. Either gonna buy used or wait for the auto loan bubble to pop and (hopefully) see prices plummet.

Wait until January or February and buy a leftover 2019.

I bought a leftover 2017 Colorado like that GMC (no leather or navigation) for $33,900 OTD.

That 3.6L engine is easy on gas. My best so far is 27.2 mpg over a 50 mile stretch.

Don't really like that their little 160hp 4 cyl still only gets 18mpg. Everything seemed dated for the prices they want and my local dealer is a real slimeball factory. Then again, wtf. The entire market seems nutso.

That’s a laughable comparison, the Toyota trucks chit all over domestics as far as long term durability and resale value.
