Full on hype was back in place because of the bull run on the price.

Brb, hacker steals $4.2m of BTC overnight, half of it out of supposedly secure private wallets.

This stuff isn't money. Cyber security is basically at the same place actual banking was in the 1800s when Wells Fargo coaches could get robbed by bandits. Except even then, the banks almost always got the money back to the depositors. Oh, and since 1933 the federal govt actually insures losses for individuals.

Society will never adopt this beyond the people already using it.

An exchange was hacked and exchange wallets aren't "secure private wallets". When you transfer crypto to an exchange it is technically no longer yours. If you're gonna roast coincells at least get your facts straight. Talk about price volatility if you want to keep it light but crypto itself is completely secure if it's handled properly. The problem is most people (including OP) are probably too technologically ignorant to handle it properly and that's why adoption is a long way off.

My favorite is the people who even remotely compare Crypto to investing in the stock market.


They don't understand that you get a portion of that company when you buy stock. And that company makes money, revenue (of any type). They offer a product or service that people will typically always want or need. And you get a portion of their profits.

They are completely different. Crypto is literally monopoly money that's unregulated so billionaires are having a fking FIELD DAY with these plebes. I'm sure a decent chunk of plebes get in/out at decent enough times during the pump and dumps, but they're making a killing off 95% of you. it's hilarious to watch from a safe distance

Bitrue. Never even heard of it until the hack. Apparently users are getting their funds returned because the exchanges the funds were sent to froze the accounts.

I am not a crypto guy and I am convinced this is a bubble 100% but that's not how it works lol they have themselves to blame for that one and I am sure this already happened before.

None of those scenarios are possible when crypto is handled properly. Again, you have zero idea what you're talking about. I don't have any crypto I just get tired of misinformation being spread about it.

My point is that people don't even handle REAL money properly. The only reason banking works is that it's insured by central entities that people trust will make good on anything that goes wrong.

With a decentralized currency, there by definition can't be a central entity to guarantee it.

Take away the FDIC and all the federal laws regarding banking and people would have floor safes full of currency. Any argument for how secure crypto "can" be is beside the point.
