Why would the officer risk his own life like that by hanging onto the car over... at best... catching a guy with a few bags of weed?

Like is it really that big of a deal if the guy takes off with some weed in his car?

Is it really worth hanging onto his car and shooting him over it?

Now they saying that the guy attempted murder on the officer... I don't see it that way, I see a man holding onto another mans car while he tried driving away from him.

Better solution?

Step off the car, guy takes off with a few bags of weed. No one dies.

His solution? Hold onto car, risk his own life, shoot at the guy, attempt to end his life.

Why?

Few bags of weed, if even... talk about escalating a situation from ---literally nothing---, to "someone's gonna die today"

poor guy he made a stupid decision but for the cop to just flip the script i see why Rocky got agitated himself. This is all for a drug which has no clear harmful impacts like prescription drugs and alcohol

Heres the thing, theres been court rulings that cops cant create a situation that warrants deadly force i.e. you cant jump in front of a speeding car then shoot. So im not sure if this will be justified. But it seems like the cop had tunnel vision and simply reacted. 50-50 whether itll be justified or not

This. Nobody should be getting arrested over personal amounts of drugs in the first place, and it’s completely up to a cops discretion to arrest someone for a personal amount of drugs, so when a cop wants to be a dumbass and put everyone’s life at risk to stop a person from possessing a small amount of drugs, he is an idiot. There’s actually no moral justification in ruining someone’s life with a weed charge when you had the option to not charge them, I’m a cop supporter when it comes to literally everything except the war on drugs. When I see the stupid lengths cops will go to just to make a drug arrest it makes me start to feel anti-police, which I don’t like

This. You also have to seriously wonder why the guy would take off and create a police chase situation over some basic MJ. It's highly probable that a lot more might be going on than a little MJ for personal use if they're willing to flee from the cops over it. What if this dude had a kidnapping victim in his trunk or trunk full of illegal firearms that were the real reason he was willing to take such a serious risk to get away? This isn't the 90's, getting busted over a little MJ isn't gonna get you nearly enough time to warrant trying to flee from the cops over it. Dude was a moron who should have just taken the L over the MJ and been done with it rather than escalating the situation to such ridiculous levels.

I seen part of the video last night. It looked like the cop got really angry for some reason n it seemed the driver panicked. The way he panicked when the gun was drawn made it seem like he had some mental illness or something.
