Thank you for pointing that out brah. It is time for people to start gaining more consciousness of the world and themselves without being crowded by biases.

the middle ground is called REALITY. nothing about being positive or negative. just live in fuking reality. its that simple. thats what I advocate for. Being too negative or too positive are dumb, just live in reality.

and that' s all OP is getting at. The reality is, your mindset will have very little to do with what happens to you because so many other things matter at the end of the day that you cant control.

by all means do the best you can in life and hope for the best, but all this wishful thinking nonsense does not matter.

I'm not saying its wrong to approach things the best way you can, that makes logical sense to do. it wont ever hurt to do that. but it doesnt make that much of a difference at the end of the day.

The difference between us, is probably that good things happen to you way more often than it does me, and our mindsets are the RESULT of those different outcomes, not the cause of them.

My view today is the result of what I've experienced. 15 years ago I was basically like you, irrationally positive about everything and thought I could determine my fate. but then reality hit and I dont believe that sh*it anymore dude.

Nothing matters when nobody cares about men and they have little value in today's world. The system is set up to suck the life out of most people, some people get lucky and others don't. Anyone who has success is just born into luck. Even the rock wouldn't be what he is today without his dad being in wwe.

Your reality is the world isn’t fair and you’re upset by the hand you were dealt.

My reality is that I’m thankful for the things I have, my abilities, the opportunities I’ve been given and earned and doing my best with the hand I was dealt.

Amazing what a little mindset and attitude can do.

both are true you dingus. it is a fact that life isnt fair and I got dealt a crap hand. that doesnt mean I'm not thankful for what I do have, and I do try to make the most of it. but the FACT is, ' the most of it' isnt that good for me. and yes that sucks.

that is the reality of my life, yours sounds better. good for you. but acknowledging reality doesnt make me negative or wrong dude, you seem to think it does

what you're failing to do is looking beyond yourself.
The claim of my op is that mindset does not contribute much to success, and people are generally optimistic and tend to have a positive mindset. I am trying to say that there are many other more important factors that make someone successful in a competitive endeavor (business and dating for example). Americans are insanely optimistic.https://qz.com/883348/americans-cont...mb-the-ladder/
It can even be argue that successful people tends to be more optimistic as a result of their success, and the reverse.
Now ask yourself this question
How would your mindset be if you were not as physically gifted as you are?
How would your attitude be if you were not given the same opportunity?

he doesnt seem to understand that the results we have help to shape our mindset as well.

guaranteed if he had my experiences and bad luck in life, he wouldnt feel the way he does.

I have an IRL friend who's the same way. good things always happen for him so he's super positive, but he wouldnt be that way if he had my s*it luck

Mindset is another "movement" used to sell books and seats @ events. Another "cure-all" to help the brainwashed masses feel better about their bullshyt lives.

It’s obvious that no one has ever truly believed that OP had any potential and encouraged him to do something he thought was out of reach.

Mindset is literally everything. A bad mindset makes improvement in anything nearly impossible. I see it all the time as a coach with new players to my team; in fact fostering a positive mindset is my primary objective in each player on and off the field. I’ve seen the ‘I can’t do it mentality’ sidetrack progress, and I’ve also seen those same kids flourish when they are encouraged to accomplish, and succeed. Each success breathes more life into a growing positive mindset that makes learning new skills easy because they know that when they put the work in there is no reason to ever get discouraged because the results will come.

The future is not real yet. A positive mindset is not about observing what is going on today and deluding yourself into thinking it is not as bad, it is about focusing your thoughts on bettering yourself instead of focusing on all the reasons why you cannot. I don't think you understand what a positive mindset is at all. You're just off on a tangent talking about your misconception of what a positive mindset is, similar to the OP.

Who are you exactly arguing against then may I ask? Where did anyone itt say to be irrational about it?

And as far as the people who are irrational about it... who fukin cares? It's same as religion or any other cope in life, let them live their lives with their delusions. If anything I find it laughable and lol when someone is retarded positive about their position in life.

Life is hard enough as it is bro, don't have to make it harder on yourself by being sour on people all the time. Again it's not about people not being retarded, which is the unfortunate reality, it's about not letting it rustle you so much. I don't consider it deluding myself when I choose not to think about how dumb and annoying people are... I fukin know they are lol I know it very well. But why be upset about it? You're right"Crazy Charlie" should be in his place if only he wasn't in a padded room smearing his **** all over the walls.

"chitty mindset" aka living in reality.

in America if you're not down with the cult of positive thinking you're looked at as crazy, when they're the crazy ones

You have to be delusional, at least to some degree. How many of you *******s here would like to be President? Yeah, probably all of you. How many of you will actually step in and try to do it? None, because you have common sense. But the people who actually do become President are delusionalas fukand totally believe they are going to win from the start. They don't just wake up one day under that job, they actually see themselves being that person.

The take away is that - to win, youhaveto envision yourself winning. but youdon'twin every time you envision it.

Even the people running for president are mostly delusional and most have no realistic chance.

Yes, some people are in position to actually win. And those people should run. Nothing wrong with taking an accurate view of your odds and running based on that.
