Yes, maybe for an individual goal. For making friends or getting a gf is almost entirely dependent on genetics, environment and other people. You have little to no control over that. Like I have said before someone can have a positive mindset and approach 100 girls and get 0 success.

People love to be told success isn't about inherent ability, they love a rags to riches story. Same as people love to see a slightly above average celebrity hailed as a sex symbol. In the real world it's all about genetics in one way or another. You can't be really telling me a positive mindset is necessary to keep lifting when your beginner gains are exhausted. Lifting is one of the most highly researched topics out there, there's more information on lifting than anything. What's necessary is common sense and also not being a pussy. When it comes to uncharted territory like starting a business or pursuing something where you can't have your hand held the whole time there's no place for a positive mindset, only brutal honesty or you could wind up a lot of money in the red.

Meeting women in my opinion is similar, it does come down to looks. Lol at thinking that if bagel manlet watched one of these youtube speeches and got hyped up to approach a hundred women he would get different results. Of course this is an extreme example, but necessary otherwise its very easy to get correlation/causation mixed up.
I get the impression that you're deliberately being obtuse or that you're just generally trying to justify your own failures, so this will be my last response to you. To put it in simplified terms, mindset has the ability to alter your own individual motivation. Within specific boundaries, your determination will be shaped by your prior experiences, your skill level, and your mindset. Someone who understands that lifting will not always be a linear process and is determined to make gains will not quit in the face of stagnating progress, setbacks, plateaus, etc. You can call it 'not being a pussy' instead of mindset if you want.

Edit: Also, when it comes to starting a business, a specific mindset is absolutely crucial for success. Here it's not just about IQ, connections, or inherent ability. To take one example, Mark Cuban has told the story of how he worked for 8 years on his first company without any vacation, in a near poverty state, and despite the fact that his long-term girlfriend of six years left him because of the time he was devoting to the endeavor. He eventually sold it for several million, but not everyone would have kept at it under those conditions. And before you straw man me, no, I'm not suggesting that business success only requires sacrifice and hard work. I'm simply saying that mindset is an important factor that needs to be taken into account and which can make a difference.

It’s so easy that I can’t believe you have any doubt. Ask them for directions even if your not lost, bitch about the weather, talk about how great the weather is, compliment their hair, tell them they have a cute dog and play with it....... Then tell them they have a pretty smile, or nice teeth, or cute dimples, or a great laugh and then walk away. Get very comfortable doing this.

But you can. It’s not flirting it’s called congeniality. I do it every single day and I’m not even on the market. Cashiers make it easy because they have to talk to you and are pretty used to being looked through. If you take a few seconds to look them in the eyes and genuinely ask them how they are doing they will generally smile and answer sincerely. You’re not trying to fuk all these women; this in not some PUA ‘get you laid tonight’ bullchit - you’re building a foundation - you're trying to get so comfortable talking to women that you have the skill to have a natural conversation and do not act like a complete FA when you see one that you want to ask out.

I know you're trying to help, but I wouldn't totally give up on women unless I knew what I was talking about. If its this hard to fuk even a fatty for me, its just not worth it.
It’s your mindset and attitude that unattractive. As a man, every word you've typed in this thread has made me cringe; I can only imagine how negatively the words that come out of your mouth and your defeated body language are received by women.

Yeah, I’m not the best one to give advice to an incel; my experience with women is the opposite of yours. Getting women is so natural for me that I don’t even consider it a challenge.

I don’t have game, I’m not Adonis, I’m just really comfortable talking to women - which makes everything else fall into place.

You guys want some magic bullet instead of developing your social skills. ‘I can’t & I’m giving up’ is something that my 3 year old nephew said when I was teaching him to ride a bike, throwing in the towel on women is not something I would expect to hear an Ivy League educated man ever say.

There are people all over the planet that have healthy love lives that are shorter and uglier than you. Stop it with the bullchit excuses.

my mindset and attitude didn't just pop up out of nowhere. you think I was born just believing I couldnt get a date? I wasnt. I was failing constantly with women before I ever suspected maybe I was just ugly. So you cant say something that is a result of all my rejection, is also the cause of it. thats impossible.

there is nothing wrong with my social skills. I can make friends, I have a good social circle that includes a good number of chicks. I'm just not someone that anyone would want to date, because I'm not physically appealing. This isnt that complicated.

A chick that likes you as a person but not physically will be your friend and thats it.

At 5'3, there's not many men on the planet that are shorter than me. I'm always the shortest guy in the room, plus I posted my pics and got rated a 4/10 by most. you combine that I'm also ethnic looking and really dark skinned and its just not a mix thats gonna get results

No random girl is going to care if some dude starts talking to them, people in general do not want to be approached and I know from experience that people dont care what random people say. That's one of the reasons I don't do it. I KNOW nobody will care about what I say.

Might as well believe in the law of attraction if you think that a certain mindset will directly make you successful in business or with women.

It's the hard truth that most people aren't willing to accept. It's much comforting to keep believing in a lie that gives some kind of false hope. Humans are optimistic by nature and will do anything to run away from the sometime sad reality of life.
In late, but yes. This.
It is possible to try very hard, make no mistakes, and still not have things work out.

Obviously if you have a **** attitude and are too pessimistic to even try, then you have zero chance compared to "perhaps a reasonable chance" with a better attitude. Obviously if you give up especially at the first sign of an obstacle, you'll have zero chance compared to "perhaps still a decent chance" if you're determined to find a way to navigate obstacles and get back up again after disasters.

However. All these "motivational" type people... include some who i know personally and actually like... it's all "just work harder, be positive, don't give up". But I rarely see anyone actually offering actual helpful advice in terms of... you know... effective strategies and how to do course correction and so on. And when you're frustrated because you've done all the things you were supposed to do, you tried hard, when it didn't work you tried something else, and it's all starting to grind to a halt again and you're out of ideas because what you've been doing SHOULD work... all you get is "wow you're being so negative". :/

You can't always control or predict how people respond. In a lot of things... success comes down to other people getting on board and being in the right place at the right time. AKA luck.

I have to keep this brief for now.

I think people SHOULD validate the fact that at 5'3", it will be harder for you in the dating pool. Forget random online people that "rate" your pics (which may NOT show off your best features, if not photo shopped...) in a fleeting manner. What matters is how comfortable you make women feel around you...the kind of confident aura you can project by making the most of your physical, intellectual, interpersonal and emotional strengths... Your strengths are unique to you only, and your buddies don't have YOUR strengths. You have to recognize them, focus on them and develop them further, if necessary. This will help you develop more self-esteem and self-efficacy

In late but here are my 2 cents.

Mindset is both useless and very usefull.

When it comes to achieve something, it is almost useless, sure it is a plus but genetic is what dictates what one can achieve in life. A depressed Cantor or Schubert will achieve more than 99.9 of the population for instance.

However, when it comes to life in general, mindset can be very usefull as it will allow you to keep a positive outlook on your life even if you have not a great potential.

Ofc the best thing is to have the best potential and the best mindset but if you have not a good potential, a good mindset can help you cope and go through life and even find some happyness and/or inner peace.

This is also directed at BigBalls and others in this thread... People remember how you treat them. People love being around others who can make THEM feel good about THEMSELVES! This is a well-known fact of life. This is also correlated with having an ability to make another person feel comfortable around you. You shouldn't start working on this with a bunch of female groupies where alcohol is involved... Learn to be genuine in your intentions (assuming they're good) with wanting to get to know people who share similar (compatible) core values and personalities. This might sound basic, but it's also just down-to-earth reasoning/thinking.

How often do you go out? I'm sure you know the more people you meet (in the right places), the better your chances of feeling romantic chemistry with compatible women. That's a big factor! You're in your prime. Also, do you lift (we're on a body building website)? You'll feel more confident if you do, and it will fill out your frame.

Go out where? Pretty sick of the bar scene dont do that anymore. More just activities/hobbies with my friends. I meet plenty of women I like through things like this, never amounts to anything. Never has. Never will.

I dont understand why it's so hard for miscers to believe. If an ugly fat chick couldn't get a date everyone would understand the obvious reason why. Why cant you apply the same logic to an ugly midget man?

To answer your question no I dont lift but I did for years and it didnt make a difference

What are YOUR strengths? What are you really good at? What makes you proud to be YOU? Think about it...because you have them! Everybody has both strength and weaknesses...even the "Chads" lol!!

So, what are they? You can list them here, as many as like or think of. Or, if you prefer to keep that personal, then write them down now!

Btw, don't refer to yourself as a "midget" anymore, ok? Anyone that calls you that, whether here or IRL, is a fukkin MENTAL midget.

I'd say people that like me as a friend like me because I'm smart, funny, and(contrary to misc uninformed assumptions) I'm good at helping people have fun and chill. And it works. I make friends. I host things at my house, or the park or something and people come. People like me. just dont want to fuk me.

So you have a really easygoing and extroverted personality? That's what it sounds like! But there's probably a lot more personality traits AND good physical characteristics you're leaving out (or not focusing on...). Just acknowledging you're "smart" doesn't distinguish you from other people you know. What details can you give about your intelligence? Are you witty, good with one-liners, a summa cum laude (or magna?) graduate, off-the-charts mathematical skills...? What do you have that you wouldn't trade for the world?

I believe people like you and that you are sociable IRL. Do you think some female friends in your social circle could give you feedback into possible vibes you may give off (whether to them or to other females they may have noted)? Good female friends can sometimes be very helpful with this... Would they think you have a "self-defeatist" demeanor? Just curious, that's all.

I think he knows. Just let him talk through his problem. Let our lady friend help him do that. Not everybody is as strong as you in both mind and body. *bow*

For what it's worth, "Mindbuilding.com" may also have a nice ring to it. Don't you think so?

I'm on it because I like the forum and most topics arent even about lifting.

Even when I did lift I never discussed it much on the misc anyway.

I'm thinking it's very possible your female friends easily pick up on any "desperate" attempts to just get into their pants. That could be a turn off for them

What if Mark Cuban was an idiot with no business sense and full confidence in his business? Could anyone apply that same lesson? Of course not, because Mark's business had merit and not everyone's does. Yes, if Mark had given up he would have never succeeded. But if he knew that his business had a USP and a market, it would only make sense to continue. If Mark woke up in that time period with a business that was terrible and bound to fail, he would have recognized that and closed it. Not gonna explain this again.
You're the idiot. You're incapable of understanding the basic distinction I already made earlier: There is a difference between a delusional, positive mindset in the absence of necessary material, economic, and social conditions and cultivating a positive, determined mindset in the presence of those conditions. I've already said that luck, timing, skill, etc make a difference. I used the Cuban anecdote as one example to make a point. Yes, timing and other factors matter--if it wasn't for the dot.com bubble, Cuban would not be a billionaire, for example. However, there were people with similar business ideas who failed during that period as well.

You don't seem to understand that having a certain drive and mindset in a given context is superior to having a negative mindset in those same conditions. Yes, you need a certain degree of positive reinforcement to stay motivated, but cultivating a certain mentality through reflection and mindfulness does have a role to play in certain forms of success, given the presence of basic conditions. Read the last part before you decide to respond.

this isnt mindset, its action/behavior. Two people can have a different outlook but if they both do what they need to do in terms of actions, same thing. Example: 1 overly optimistic businessman and 1 guy that's more hesitant but they both do their best and give full effort. mindset doesnt matter as long you just do the best you can in a given situation
