Bison launches 9-year-old girl into the air at Yellowstone

A raging bull bison could be seen charging at a 9-year-old girl at Yellowstone National Park — and launching her several feet into the air.

The shocking incident, which was caught on camera, happened as a group of 50 visitors loitered closely around the animal for nearly 20 minutes in the Old Faithful Geyser area on Monday afternoon, according to the National Park Service.

Footage from the incident, shot by visitor Hailey Dayton, who was just steps away from the bull bison, shows the animal calmly grazing on a hillside before charging and walloping the girl.

Other tourists can be heard on camera gasping, “Oh my god, oh my god” as the girl flips sideways in mid-air.

After charging at the little girl, the bull bison stoked more fears when it set its sights on a crowd gathered on a nearby bridge.

“Everyone was screaming and running while little kids were crying,” Dayton told The Post.

“When the bison finally left many people went to the family to see if they could do anything to help the girl.”

The youngster was tended to by park emergency workers before being treated and released from the Old Faithful Clinic, according to NPS.

No citations were issued and the incident is still under investigation.

Fukkin annoying city folk think being out in the wilderness is like the cot dayum zoo.

Some of the most breath taking places on earth are also very risky. It's a risk to allow your child so close to an animal that is unstoppable if it starts raging. Beautiful creature, but certainly not something a 9 year old needs to be directly next too. Reading the story it seems as if the girl recovered fine so in the end it's actually a pretty cool story for her to tell years from now.....also a fun negged gif if anyone cares to make it

Run sideways (perpendicular to the bull) if a domestic bull charges you, I'm assuming it's true for any bovine. My dad's bull charged my son as he was opening a gate and luckily I had just told him that, it helped him get behind my suburban. Then the bull came after the suburban. Mean SOB.
