My flight is with Qantas - both babies travel for free (we'll just keep them in the seat with us, no bassinet needed), and our tickets were only $80 in fees and some FF miles. Not bad for 6 hours in business

Nice. Ours was 6 months old when we flew (8hrs or so). She was great - infants actually make very little noise in my experience.

Most people wear their headphones so they don’t hear much anyway.

I've heard that too. It all came down to this for me, do I ever use noise canceling alone ( without music ? ). The answer was not really, so I went with the XM3's. But I do wonder how much difference there really is, and it's very hard to get a good non-subjective comparison without buying and using both for extended periods of time.

I genuinely don't get what your problem is here, I've seen far more of a "lack of class" from fellow adults than I have from babies.

We're not in the 1960s anymore anyway, all sorts of folk travel in first class these days.

I've never witnessed an adult scream for hours on end, and I've seen some chit. If adults acted the way some babies do on flights, they'd be met with handcuffs at the arrival gate.

But they aren't adults, and crying is the only way they can communicate - nothing to be done about it. What's inconsiderate is expecting others to just stay home and not go on holidays just because they have a newborn, the world doesn't revolve around you and your needs...

I made the thread because I was curious about whether my friends attitude was the norm. Probably should have expected that the misc would be immature when it comes to this topic though.

I never said they should stay home. In fact, I said you had every right to sit there, but that doesn't make you any less inconsiderate and ill-mannered. The thing about maturity is the ability to grasp and respond to changing environments, the general awareness of how you are perceived in such landscapes, and how your decisions affect others. I smell projection. I definitely feel like I'm getting trolled, but at the same time, the only people I've ever interacted with who are similar in thought to you are parents.

At least tell us you're somehow flying Japan Airlines, so other passengers have insight into how to avoid your family.

So you're willing to put your kids through the discomfort and stress of multiple flights before they're two years old, just so you can save a few hundred dollars? That's low class, children should not be traveling before they're 3 years old. I feel bad for your kids, growing up with parents who will never put their children first.

I'm sorry op, you you need to accept the fact that you are "that guy" that everyone hates. You take you kid on a plane and people will probably smile, but roll their eyes and groan under their breath.

You probably don't think your kid is annoying because its yours, but everyone around you just see's it as another damn baby.
