That's just straight up wrong. There are varying degrees of FGM, several of which are less severe than male circumcision. For instance, a pin prick, or the removal of a fingernail size piece of skin.

For some reason, people think that FGM only means the most severe type. That is a lie. From my understanding, the most common forms of FGM worldwide are less severe than routine male circumcision.

Even a tiny pin prick on females is illegal to do in most civilized countries, yet male circumcision is legal while being far more damaging. It's totally absurd.
