I remember that liveleak video.
Looks like the current pulls the black guy back a bit, he panics and loses grip of the wood then instantly goes into uber panic and cant cope. Other guy obviously tries to save him but gets dragged under.
I'd like to say i'd have done better but im a weak swimmer and probably would have done the same as the black guy.
