Exactly. Tonight is no different. Last time I was at a club I worked on a girl all night and got nothing. Some dude spends 5 minutes and is making out with her and probably smashed. I'm a different person every day, but I'm actually pretty at home in a group of people. Humor is easy for me if there is somebody to play off.

Agree about the super loud clubs/bars, there is nothing appealing about that environment, but a more relaxed bar or a house party is top notch.

the true answer to breaking this silly fear is exposing yourself - to me, this is embarrassing yourself - realize you don't die. that your idea was a silly idea made up in your head and thus the "fear" is gone

however, if you don't do that, then you will likely continuously constrict yourself and stay within that little bubble.

really the only choice, unless something else forces you out

for example, someone with a fear of going over bridges would be forced to face their fear and go over a bridge, else it stays this big fear that is exacerbated by continuously staying away from it
