I got mine. I don't know if I have any 1099's coming in or not. I may have signed up for a credit card that gave me some $200 award or something.

I'm pretty surprised. They took out as much (federal) this year, as they did a few years ago when I was making significantly less. Trump tax cuts I assume.

Doesn’t really matter what was withheld. Matters what your effective tax rate is when you file. My 2018 rate was lower then 2017. But people like to claim Trumps tax plan was only for the rich.

Farley, I think it was you talking about a 13.7 from SOLGW right?

You think a 10.5” rail would look dumb on that? They’ve been out of 13” rails forever.

Thinking a 10.5 rail with the 13.7 barrel and titanium barrel nut would be a badass super light gun.

yep. I owe every year (on purpose). I calculate my taxes by the old tax rate vs. new and my taxes were lower for 2018 and 2019.

Just donated $50 each to GOA and FPC. I try to do that quarterly but I’m not as vigilant as I should be with that.

It’s easy to get the same optic that’s being made in China or Japan, put your logo on it and market it.

If you're pinning a muzzle device sufficient to make it a 16" barrel by law, it would look a little short, but it would probably have enough real estate to do what you need

14.5" barrel

When in doubt, shopping for a budget optic, get a Primary Arms or Vortex that fits the budget. Don't bother with the rest unless you know it's what you want for some reason. Simple life.

Assault knives now??
Strange as it may seem, this was even a law in TX up until a couple years ago - no carrying knives with blades over 5 1/2".

Doesn't seem strange at all. Texas has long had far more restrictive weapon type laws that the general US public is lead to think by TV/movies.

BTW, is TX going to go Constitutional carry or at least get rid of that stupid training and proficiency test requirement or drop the price of the CHL anytime soon?

That's why it may seem strange. The reality is not quite equal to the perception I think most of the country has.

And we just got open carry w/ permit (people were terrified it was going to turn into the wild west, lol) a year or so before knives, so I don't know that most of that other stuff is going to move so quickly. I think there was a requirement for either a shorter class time and/or a requalification for the permit after its 5 year expiration, but they did away with that around the same time as well IIRC. The class time requirement for the initial CHL was also reduced during all of that. So at least there's that.

My wife wants a 4runner. She drives the Sierra 1500 everyday because she works close and I drive the Camry. She’s mad I was responsible and got a Camry. May trade it in soon for the 4Runner.

Why would anybody drive a car when they can drive a pickup or SUV.

Never having a car again

Because it was $25k brand new. And cars handle better. It’s fun to drive trucks but no comparison how a car handles compared to a crossover or truck.

eh, I guess. But you sit so close to the road down where so many people's headlights and bumpers are at your face level, there's nowhere to put large items, limited headroom my head hits the ceiling if I just move around a bit for crying out loud, and for that price you aren't getting anything fast or AWD for snow or even wet dirt roads etc. And for some of us, good luck fitting multiple passengers/kids and big dogs in there with you lol. You do get better gas mileage and it's easier to park.

I'd rather have the 5k lb 4x4 half ton truck chassis that smokes the little car in a straight line on pavement and can go off pavement too. It's not $25k new though lol

Exactly. Our 3 year old half ton was like $35k

I have such a boner for a 2020 GMC HD but I don’t want to pay $60k+. Maybe I just need to get what I want.
