So it's either been here not doing s*it or it hasn't really until now

So while we're doing zero testing, going in blind as far as knowing who and how many are infected, CDC is literally telling people as long as they don't have "reason to believe" they came into contact with someone infect, they're fine even with symptoms.
...but we have no idea who's infected due to no testing or infected simply not showing symptoms yet to get tested in the first place.
CDC will be to blame for this engulfing the country. When the HMF's in charge don't take it seriously, we can't expect the average joe to either....

Just a weird coincidence one of the worst flu months in recent memory coincides with the outbreak of a new virus with similar symptoms to the flu. My step-daughters private school, which hosts less than 200 total kids (K-8) had 50 kids out at a time one week.
lol, think we have tested like 2k people here stateside. So either they have information/data that says mass testing isn't beneficial/needed..... or the government is that incompetent. The second is a scary though when you think about it.

Who would have thought kids would get the flu during flu season during bad flu month.
THIS IS NOT THE FKING FLU.

Simply assuming all you have is a cold or a mild case of influenza is a bad idea if you will be in contact with the above who it can absolutely be deadly for.
Also, there's more and more talk that even those getting over it and recovering are showing signs of permanent lung damage in scans. That's a serious thing no matter how old you are.

**No one with credentials ever said children flat out DO NO get it. Just that out of the thousands and thousands of cases, there's an insanely low number of children infected.

I think there will be spikes in some areas but overall I don’t expect it to be too bad, or at least won’t get to the point where we overwhelm healthcare facilities. But even if some areas do, the CDC can’t get all of the blame. They can’t make LA cancel their marathon or make towns/cities act in certain ways. There will be plenty of blame to go around if things get ugly, but I’m sure us getting to that point is the most likely scenario right now.So while we're doing zero testing, going in blind as far as knowing who and how many are infected, CDC is literally telling people as long as they don't have "reason to believe" they came into contact with someone infect, they're fine even with symptoms.

As far as the lung damage thing, how can we know? Wouldn’t that be like getting cut, not having it completely healed a week later, and then saying there will be permanent damage? We don’t know what the lungs looked like before they got it, how bad it got, and we don’t know what their lungs will look like in 6 months. I’m not a doctor so others can feel free to correct me....but it seems premature to look at their lungs a week after being released and going “yep, looks like you have permanent damage”.

The CDC and US government did not consciously decide to not do mass testing. The first batch of test kits mailed to the states in early February was defective. Most states were not able to validate the tests to show consistent results, so they had to rely on the CDC to do testing. The second batch was not sent out until last week. Since then testing has been faster but some states don’t have the lab capacity to do more than a dozen a day. This is why hard hit states like NY are trying to get the CDC to agree to allow private labs to carry out the tests.
They said she's gone too far this time
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It is not because a lot of people who have it will not show signs strong enough to go in and get a test to begin with, and we can play it safe for now and tell anyone bad enough that they go to see a doctor to stay home even without a test

Over 70% of people infected with coronavirus in China recovered: WHO
The World Health Organization said Monday that more than 70 percent of those infected with the new coronavirus in China have recovered, adding that the country was "bringing its epidemic under control".
Out of the more than 80,000 cases of COVID-19 in China, "more than 70 percent have recovered and have been discharged," WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters in Geneva.

Basically, unless you catch people early and before they're severely ill, you're already in trouble. South Korea has had some success setting up drive-through testing stations to keep people out of the hospital waiting rooms, and Germany is now trying their model.Anyone with it bad enough to go see a doctor yes.
People with mild symptoms wouldnt get tested no matter how many tests we have because they wont go to the doctor.
Unless you think everyone who so much as sneezes one time should go in for a test?

The first batch of test kits mailed to the states in early February was defective. Most states were not able to validate the tests to show consistent results, so they had to rely on the CDC to do testing. The second batch was not sent out until last week. Since then testing has been faster but some states don’t have the lab capacity to do more than a dozen a day. This is why hard hit states like NY are trying to get the CDC to agree to allow private labs to carry out the tests.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.
