It is then touching your eyes, mouth, nose, etc that gets you infected. If you wear a mask and goggles and DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE, plain old soap and water when you land will clean your hands.
If you can find it you want a NIOSH N95 mask not just a dusk mask/surgical mask. You could also go the route of wearing nitrile gloves but again it’s important you DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE. Realize this is borderline impossible. If you can’t find an N95 mask, a dusk mask will help you not touch your mouth and nose, and goggles the same for your eyes. If you are strict about that, you just need to be sure you take off the mask properly, same for goggles, then wash hands thoroughly. Otherwise you risk getting infected from the outside of the mask/gloves.
Basically the virus will only infect you if it reaches a mucus membrane. It’s not going to be absorbed through your skin.
Edit: Don’t forget all the things you touched will need to be disinfected too. Headphones, phone, laptop, book, etc. Just because you wear PPE and wash your hands does not mean you haven’t transferred virus particles to your belongings for future infection gains.
Cliffs: Being a germaphobe ain’t easy

That said, they aren’t recommending high risk folks don’t fly for no reason. These quarantines aren’t for giggles. Social distancing / not risking exposure is still the best solution if possible. An airplane is the polar opposite of that.
We are all gunna make it

I've logged in for the first time in years to offer some information in my unique position. Never a regular poster, mostly lurker, but visit the misc often for lulz and latest takes on news/events.
In my line of work, I am deeply involved with the point-of-care diagnostics industry here in the US and abroad where there has been massive investment over the past several years. My area of expertise is transfer-to-manufacturing and manufacturing scale-up of diagnostic test kits and the components thereof - I can't speak for the underlying science or efficacy of tests on the market or soon-to-be, but want to share the knowledge I have due to the numerous posts about "faulty test kits" or a lack of supply of test kits for the novel coronavirus.
Assays to test coronavirus or any particular viral or bacterial contagion really can be developed surprisingly quick - the basic chemical steps remain the same but the molecular targets change based on the specific strain to be detected. This is why any test for a novel coronavirus, remarkably, was in use so very quickly. However, these initial assays are painstakingly manual and must be performed by highly trained technicians in a controlled and regulated laboratory setting, which may be even more hindered by the current pace of events right now. Mistakes can and will be made when only humans are involved.
A major inhibitor to churning out millions of EFFECTIVE test kits is the fact that these very early tests are not integrated into any commercially available, highly automated point-of-care diagnostic testing machines - YET. There is massive momentum across dozens of US diagnostic companies to develop, ramp up production, and roll out automated PoC test kits which will allow rapid detection and widespread monitoring of this coronavirus strain. These devices can report sample-to-answer results within a few hours, sometimes as little as 15 minutes. Yes, there is some lead time associated with this scale up, but once online we (US and EU) will be able to massively scale up community testing and retesting if necessary.
We are in good hands.

The virus can only infect you if it reaches a mucus membrane. Not will only infect. It's still not a guaranteed infection at that point.
I recommended taking Lysol wipes on the plane itself in the other thread, to wipe down surfaces that one has a high possibility of touching ( armrest, tray table, the clasp for the tray table, seatbelt buckle, and so on ).
I double checked for homemade bleach wipes, those are actually not allowed, but isopropyl alcohol is so there you go, if you can't find wipes, alcohol soaked paper towel in a ziploc bag.

They locked Italy down.
100% of the deaths were from people over the age of 60, with the majority of them being over the aged of 80.
I bet they were already on their death beds.
I wanna know the motive is here?
Surely people need to wake up and see the virus isn't the problem here?
The much much bigger problem is the fear that is being brought on by the media, and its going to cripple the economy.
This is a big plan / trial run by the elites and have a bigger motive at hand. (look at how easily people are manipulated, locked down)
Fancy that the epicenter of the virus is in a city with the most factories in China to cripple production.
Nothing more than a bad flu, can't go on a news site without seeing panic words. Since when the **** are journalists medical experts......absolute scum of society is what they are.
Turn off the news. Delete Social Media. and live your life is my advice.
If you are healthy and not already immune comprimised with a CHRONIC illness you have nothing to worry about.
What we do need to worry about is the fallout economically from stupidity and fear mongering.
/ Rant.

How in the fk is Germany only reporting 2 deaths? They're either flat out lying or figured out something the rest of the world sure as hell hasn't.

Some tips.
Freeze your rice for 48 hours and then put in smaller containers, kills the bugs
Buy and keep large jugs of water. If things get bad, you can fill them all with tap water and store them.

“The Western media quickly took the stage and laid out the official narrative for the outbreak of the new coronavirus which appeared to have begun in China, claiming it to have originated with animals at a wet market in Wuhan.
In fact the origin was for a long time unknown but it appears likely now, according to Chinese and Japanese reports, that the virus originated elsewhere, from multiple locations, but began to spread widely only after being introduced to the market.
More to the point, it appears that the virus did not originate in China and, according to reports in Japanese and other media, may have originated in the US.”

What's going to haooen to all the douchebags who wear Gucci?
Looks like China is ramping up to fill the void in the 'made in Italy' market?
And anyone know Italians? LOL at any of the middle aged people and older listening. There will be so many arguments and arrests I imagine.
